Whether in a jazz band or in a full symphony orchestra, the quintet of Andrea, Joan, Ignasi, Josep and Esteve, outshines them all. This group’s interpretation and improvisation of a standard song so mesmerized the audience that you can hear a pin drop in view of their utter silence.

To speak about Andrea Is useless She Is Always perfect. I'd like emphasize the importance of Ignasi Terraza Who Is a great professional and he Is the connection beetwen orchestra and soloist as a real metronome!

@@robertvanruyssevelt7159 - Yeah, it's now in the description. But yesterday, when I watched this, the description was empty and the video was unlisted. I only found this because I saw another video from the same programme, then I searched for "Simfónica del Vallès" in this channel, and found 9 videos plus a playlist… with 10 videos! This was the one reachable only from the playlist. (You need the link to get to a KZbin "unlisted" video; it doesn't show in the Videos page or through a search.) It had few views and only two likes. Then I added the comment (the very first) asking about the trombonist. I guess this was in the process of being published, or maybe it had been overlooked and my comment prompted a channel admin to fill in the description and publish it (publication date is Jan.19, 2021).
@ClaudioRCFaria3 жыл бұрын
@@eloycarboros53 - I'm sure that Rita Payès or Joan Codina could have played that perfectly. However, there are 10 videos from this programme. I haven't watched them all, but I guess none of the others calls for a trombone solo, so it was decided not to bring along a musician just for that; only Andrea and the rhythm section. Instead, they asked the orchestra conductor to select one of its trombonists for the solo. Well, this is purely guesswork, I have no "inside information" on it.
@paulsj92453 жыл бұрын
@@ClaudioRCFaria In 2013, Rita wasn't in the band yet. (at least, no videos). Coverage started in early 2014.

As an amateur jazz drummer, I have always wondered how difficult it must be for classical and jazz musicians to play together and make it sound good. A Jazz musician plays eights more like they were triplets (swing), and a classical musician plays them exactly as they are written. For this reason, 95% of the jazz/classical combos usually sound horrible.
@MrTsinobmort3 жыл бұрын
No, they all play what the genre dictates. There are very few musicians left in the world (who can make a living) who aren’t well aware of and capable of playing tons of styles.
