had the exact same rig, the yellow Limited edition model loved thw balance of rumble and relatively quiet sound; no need to alienate the neighbors when comin home late. damn i miss that bike.

I just bought a brand new yellow left over from 2013 Hayabusa here in Australia 10 days ago, and was trying to decide whether to go for a single full system or do as you have with the dual slip ons. I can't use all the power any way, so I might go with the dual slip ons in carbon. Good video cheers.

I have a full Yoshi single exhaust on mine. It's wayyyy lighter than stock and sounds sooo good when I'm punching through the gears.

I can’t seem to find the single exhaust options anymore. Any idea where to find em?

Now that I think about it I believe that's right, total exhaust. Anyways, nice explaintion video. I plan on getting my Busa after our winter season here in Michigan. Have a good one!

Hunter great explanations! I thought that it would be a difficult process. I'm not a mechanic but I am confident that EVEN I could out one on. Will you get a PC to level out the airflow?

Did you have to (or have you) a Dynojet power commander on your bike?
@lperk55549 жыл бұрын
That's great! I was told that whenever you change your exhaust you change the air flow ratio away from stock specs therefore you need to calibrate it to bew specs. Once again I'm not a Mechanic so I could be wrong.

This is just the tail pipe, not the total exhaust. I think you'll be fine.
@roofleleet919 жыл бұрын
+Hunter Brown it is fine no need to remap the injection after just put slip on exhaust :)

your still shows the fender eliminator but not in vid? went to your channel no list? will there be one? thanks!
@hunterleebrown8 жыл бұрын
I didn't create a video on the fend eliminator. It was pretty straight forward. Trickiest bit is just splicing the license plate light wire to the new LED unit of the fender eliminator.

Because of your well produced video here I feel you owe me money for the Yoshis I bought for my BUSA. I'll shoot you my Paypal address if that makes it easy for you? Seriously your Hayabusa is beautiful!

Too bad I didn’t see this 7 years ago. I would of told you that the straps for the mufflers are suppose to go back like the factory straps on the back side of the pegs.

Did you need to install a power commander?
@hunterleebrown10 жыл бұрын
Nope... just slip on exhausts. This is not an entire exhaust system replace, in which case you may need to do something like that.
@beloit2210 жыл бұрын
***** I had the same question (Did you need to install a power commander), according to most bike mechanics I"ve talked to it IS needed.....Why is it not?
@hunterleebrown10 жыл бұрын
wasn't in the instructions or anything I've read officially from Yoshimura.. you're just changing a tail pipe, not changing the exhaust system.
@dp-zs2un10 жыл бұрын
Hunter how does it respond now. Sounds much better.!!
@hunterleebrown10 жыл бұрын
Responds the same as stock, but the sound is better, giving it a psychological advantage ;-)

When you installed the yoshi pipes you left the old exhaust donut gasket on. It should have came off.
@sabotbusa12howard355 жыл бұрын
Whats the purpose of drilling a hole in the pipe??
@hunterleebrown5 жыл бұрын
The instructions inform you and there is a pin (rivet) that you fit in the exhaust pipe and engine exhaust to keep the pipes from twisting. The exhaust collector clamp covers the rivet and keeps it from falling off. docs.yoshimura-rd.com/112120(2,5,6,7).pdf
@shihangodan59 жыл бұрын
Why didn't you just hold the pipe and step on the scale, and then without? this would have given you the weight and be more accurate.
@bhartbhardwaj79005 жыл бұрын
Why putt drill hole in pipes🤔
@RadarRandom8 жыл бұрын
Helpful video prior to doing the same install on a Hayabusa. One note, looks like you did not remove the stock exhaust gasket and seat the pipes fully to the header pipes: kzbin.info/www/bejne/fYrdonSrpph0irc
@hunterleebrown8 жыл бұрын
+RadarRandom I did remove the gasket, and used the new gasket and clamped it down. The pipes are fully seated to the header pipes. What you're seeing is the new exhaust pipe over the header, before I've drilled the hole and placed the new rivet/notch in the hole. (I was just demonstrating the fit).. the new gasket goes over the hole as per instructions.
@RadarRandom8 жыл бұрын
+Hunter Brown thanks for replying. I think you are referring to the exhaust collector clamp. The exhaust gasket looks like this: i.imgsafe.org/5d74bdc.jpg and should be cut off prior to install. The gasket removal step stumped me until I called Yoshimura to confirm. Again, super helpful and well produced video. Thanks.
@hunterleebrown8 жыл бұрын
+RadarRandom well if so that wasn't very clear at all. I do feel however that the new pipe is fitting in the same way the old pipe was. Hmm. I'll have to look more into this for sure.
