I have had a 2010 for 10 years now, when I had that problem, I gave it to the first bidder, I didn't know that to change 3 spark plugs you had to remove so many rotor cover filter covers, for which a mechanic charges me, I bought another one

I used your method to remove that hard 12mm bolt. Tried multiple different things, but nothing worked for me except your socket and rachet method coming in from the right, and using my left hand to guide the socket. MAF sensor and throttle body cleaning was also helpful.

You swapped the first and third set of planum manifold gaskets at 39:34 from original location when removing them from the intake to planum manifold. Planum was in upside-down position so they should have gone in opposite order. If the gaskets are OK it doesn't matter much as you cleaned the intake manifold nicely. Nevertheless the video is way better than most others as you took time not only to do the job slowly but filming it in great details with patients. I like how you marked the hoses before removing them, it is a good habit to practice. I have the same engine in 2010 Toyota Aurion (Australian V6 Camry) and when asked the local shop to replace my spark plugs they wanted to charge me a fortune. In Toyota dealer it was even worst. They wanted my arm and the leg and the firstborn for it. Since this job is actually doable with lots of patients and care I decide to do it myself. Yes there are fiddly parts of the job, but I think at least I will know what exactly has been done on my car and no apprentice was working and learning on it. This job is done only on every 120K kms so it is not the end of the world. My car has done only 90Ks and I checked one of the spark plugs from the front and still in good shape so I will wait another 30Ks. Just not sure if I should replace the coils as well while at it. They are genuine coils but new genuine coils are very expensive. Thanks for the upload.

i think you should change the coil too since you got everything off. Because those coil do intend to go bad.

Thank you for the tip about using silicone lubricant to free up the air intake hose from the throttle body. I was battling it for 20 mins till I used a little spray and it freed up.

What no one sees is the position of your body as you reach in to do this repair, as a 75 year old man 6'-4" and 250# I do not have the dexterity flexibility or assorted sockets and rachet handles and magnetic style sockets. With so many disconnects and those plugs that have the clip on a 12 year old Highlander I dread even beginning. I have not asked but I'm thinking a spark plug and PCV valve change would probably be $300.00 two hours shop time xat $120.00/hr and $80.00 parts. While the vehicle is in a ship, I'd have radiator fluid drained and refilled, brakes checked and oil/filter changed. Easily $750.00 or more.

This is a great video. And it actually helped me make a big decision about tackling a tune-up myself or taking it to the shop. So much can go wrong that I'll take my 3.5 to the shop. The 2.4 is easy enough to do at home but this? I'd like to have some kind of warranty in case things get broken during all of the disassembly.

Yeah it's quite a job, however if you can lay across the engine after you've disconnected the tray, and taken off the bracket etc. you can avoid disconnecting the plenum... I've done it three years ago this month and will be doing it again soon...lol.. Amazon as of this date are selling the denso iridium plugs for 12 bucks each.... Good luck to y'all!!!

Shit. It isn't like changing the plugs on my 58 Ford or 64 Impala. In those days one had to change them once a year and maybe clean and re-gap them every half year. But I could see me dropping some stuff into the engine bay. I'm wondering about the order of replacing intake MF "nuts" and their torques. Thanks.
