What are your thoughts on sourcing parts for the 5 cylinder engine when they stop making them? I ask because my mother in law got a XR5 Focus when it first out and if she decided to keep it long term, repairs etc will become a greater issue.

Why does my 2.5l 5 cylinder Jetta have 170 horsepower, but this has 250? Does this have a turbo?
@christophercruz23352 ай бұрын
Yes
@gregaburo12 жыл бұрын
Why would you need a backup camera? You have the sensors to do the job. People expect too much electronic devices in a car with is disturbing. I drive a 3 series and with no navigation.
@Kendye34612 жыл бұрын
Good series Roman. Personally I'm not sold on backup cameras. When you're backing up, driving in reverse shouldn't we be looking behind us in all directions, using mirrors, instead of fixating on a small video-screen in the center of the dash? I think it's more of a distraction or gimmick than a truly usable feature. Commercials try to sell it as if you'll be backing up over kids or dogs in the driveway if you don't have on installed! Nonsense. That headrest feature looks nice though!
@wsijtsma12 жыл бұрын
It does have a turbo, just like the Jetta. It is also better on fuel than the Jetta.

Have never owned a Volvo, but have heard, HEARD, mind you, that they are expensive to repair from other Volvo owners. Also, do not see many of them in the parking lot at work. Just an observation.

The T5 in Europe is a Ford (well, I'm guessing it's a Ford) 2 litre inline four with 240 bhp, so "real" T5 it's already gone here. What we do have, at least in Sweden is an aftermarket Bi Fuel (Biogas/Natural gas) version with a 2 litre inline five with, well, only 213 bhp. BUT IT'S A FIVE!!!!

Well we just decided on a 2013 S60 T5 AWD over the Touareg TDI, XC60 and XC70. The get up and go was plenty, no need for the T6. The T5 was still push yourself intot he seat backs but yet have good gas mileage. And when you slap the gear shift knob to the left it goes into Automatic Sport mode then you can still do manual gear selection if you wish. Who cares about paddle shifting...LOL It's and automatic. Oh and backup camera our had it on it...but then it sticker'ed at $45,000.

For one thing, VW won't (hasn't) brought the Skoda over to the USA, so kind of difficult to get a hold of around here. Especially since the USA government has killed the gray-market industry. No bringing in cool cars... sucks.

come on seriously why the hell would you need a backup cam in a CAR? i drive a ford f-150 with no sensors and no camera, and i manage perfectly fine, its called rear view mirror/ side view mirror, and having a feeling for the car that many people lack today because they relie so much on tech
@urbanweekendwarrior72386 жыл бұрын
to be honest, I find backing up a pickup truck way easier than a car. The end is square, and you can clearly see the corners. You have a bigger rear window and you're closer too it, which gives a wider field of view. Cars tend to slope down at the back and have rounded corners, compounded with having smaller rear windows (to slope the rear of the cabin in a visually appealing way) and a longer distance between driver and rear window. I don't really have a desire for a backup camera, but to say "I can back up a pickup truck with no sensors, why would you need it for a car" is a bit backwards.
