Yeah, it's not really preventing him. His minutes have decreased and he's not the only star on the team, so naturally his numbers have decreased as well....but he's improving within the Cavs system as well if you check his PER36....higher points, rebounds, assists, FT%........ Love could average 26-13-2 because he played 39 minutes a game and there was literally no other offensive threat on the team. Pekovic was it really, and then his final season, Kevin Martin.

+Sam Two things are stopping Love from being affective. 1-The guy lost weight. I don't fucking know who's idea it was, but I've seen highschoolers bigger than him(not fat wise either). The other problem, is that he isn't playing with a pass first PG like Rubio anymore. You know that three that he made from the handoff by Ricky? That two man p&p game was Minnesota's money play. He made that shot every time and you couldn't stop it. Kyrie and Love could deliver a deadly p&p game, but do they do it? NOPE! "Hey Love! Go stand in the corner while me and LeBron put on a dribbling exhibition!" Smh...

Love is the kind of player - just like most top players - who has great shooting efficiency in the regular season, but it dramatically drops in the playoffs. In the last 8 regular seasons, Love averages 57.5 TS% on 20.0 PPG, which are ALL TIME GREAT NUMBERS. However, at the playoffs, he averages 55.0 TS% on 15.0 PPG. In the NBA Finals, his stats are even worse... In other words, Kevin Love's problem is either: 1) weak mentality - choking at the playoffs (just like most top players such as Harden, DeRozan, Westbrook, young Lebron, etc); or 2) Cleveland's/Lebron's system is not well adapted for his game at the playoffs and that's the cause for his poor numbers at the post-season. Maybe he needs a team feeding him all game to shine. As a "role player", his motivation drops alongside with his efficiency. With Lebron leaving, he might regain his leadership and increase his numbers. This year, without Kyrie, Love already had great performances against Toronto specially, the Warriors and decided Game 7 against Indiana in 1st Round with 2 clutch three pointers at the 4th, which gave Cavs a comfortable lead when Lebron was out in the locker-room shitting his pants. He also made a clutch three pointer against the Warriors at the end of Game 1, giving Cavs the lead, but GSW tied it and Lebron/Hill/JR missed the last possession. Love is a top player. Maybe he was under-utilized by the Cavs.

I don't know what you expected offensively. LeBron was going to a COMPLETELY different organization. Of course he was gonna be a little inconsistent. He still had respectable averages. As of defense, again on that side you need more than to be a "lockdown" player. You need communication and knowing tendencies of your teammates. Once again, he was on a different team. I hope David Blatt watches some Kevin Love highlights this offseason and rethinks the way he has been using him.
