Finished swapping out my starter on my 2020 Hyundai Elantra. Had to spend about $130 extra on tools, jacks and jack stands but all in all your instructions saved me sooooo much money. Thank You!

Where did you get your starter? Also was your car light’s and radio turning on but your car wasn’t turning over right?
@kirkkirk28 күн бұрын
@ that’s correct my car wouldn’t start but it would turn the lights and radio on. I got my starter from Autozone. I got it for about $280.
@officialp0328 күн бұрын
@@kirkkirk so that was the issue than? And hasn’t done it since? Because my battery and fuse is good and the car does this but only in the Winter time/cold it doesn’t turn on or takes awhile.. I have 2020 as well

@@officialp03 once I changed my starter it fixed the issue I was having. My original issue was that whenever I would try to start my car it my lights and radio would turn on but my car wouldn’t turn over. Once I changed my starter it fixed the issue.

This was a great video. Sat down and watched it twice while waiting for same day delivery starter lol. I feel like I can just walk out and do it after watching this video

I did infact, get the starter in the mail, walked outside, and performed the job like I knew what I was doing lol.

I have a 2018 sonata se, 4 cylender 2.4 L, Can I use a starter from an older model like a 17 or a sport model or just a base sonata starter? Thank you!
@HelpingHandAutoRepair2 күн бұрын
Not sure. Why not just buy the right starter to begin with? Takes all the guesswork out of it.

How do u know the starter is about to die? My car when I start it it feels like it’s about to die very hard and long start.
@HelpingHandAutoRepair4 ай бұрын
You could just have a bad battery
@austinnaylor40072 ай бұрын
Bring it to an O Reilley or other auto part store. They can test battery, starter, and alternator for you for free.

My question is, why would something that new have a failure! Was it the bendix or solenoid ?
@HelpingHandAutoRepair8 ай бұрын
The solenoid. New cars suck. That’s why.

That engine looks nothing like a 2018 Hyundai Elantra turbo
@poseidon80732 ай бұрын
Exactly, i have the 2019 turbo and cant find a video anywhere!!!
@HelpingHandAutoRepair2 ай бұрын
@poseidon8073 Likely you’ll have to remove the intake manifold to get to it. Unless you can gain access from underneath but there might be a vacuum pump in the way and overall limited space. Sorry I haven’t had to change one yet or else I’d definitely film it.

@@HelpingHandAutoRepair Thanks for the advice! i havent been able to find a single forum on it anywhere!!!
@HelpingHandAutoRepair2 ай бұрын
@poseidon8073 it’s a fairly new car is likely why and not sure why it would even be failing by now.
@poseidon80732 ай бұрын
@@HelpingHandAutoRepair apparently theres a faulty seal on the solenoid that allows moisture in, and when it gets below freezing it locks up and wont engage the starter at all, even with a jump pack put on it
