The original is a single element. A 7443 is a dual element. Buy a 7440 instead. That's probably why he had trouble inserting the bulb. The Sylvania book is wrong.

I purchased the 7440 as you recommended and I can confirm they work perfectly. No forcing required. The old lights I replaced were also 7440. Thanks for the tip!

Thank you! I bought 7443 bulbs and struggled to get them in. Sent my husband to buy 7440 bulbs and they went in no issues at all and are the same exact size as the original we were replacing.

@@spencergustafson164 the oils that your body creates gets on the bulb and when heated up some bulbs will break. Im no expert, it's just from experience.

Nissan messed up in designing their lights fixtures both front and rear on these SUV's. It takes too long and potentials of damaging the fixtures or hurting yourself. I changed my car front and rear, found out the hard way.

I am in the process of changing this exact bulb on a 2016 Rogue. I have into an issue that has me somewhat stumped. I watched your video followed everything you did but I can not get the lenses to pop out as you did. I have been pulling and prying on this thing for almost 2 hours. I've also managed to crack the lines itself but not to bad. Now I'm hesitant to pull with any force for fear its going to break to the point I have to replace that too. All this trouble because of a break light. Any suggestions.

You have to pull the tail light from the back towards you ,grab it with both hands and pull towards you one hand in the back one in the front
