A couple of points . The 30kWh version upgrade was introduced on the 67 plate June 2017 onwards. So you will find some later registered 67 plates , as well as the 18/68 plates are 30kWh There were only 320 27kWh soul EV registered when the 30kWh was introduced there are 560 30kWh versions on UK roads ...

Want to know as a 2nd hand car, without any warranty, is there any major issues that could cause a big repair bill? How much would the battery cost?

Does the Kia have a battery condition indicator like the Leaf has with the up to 12 segment indicator. Also, is there a way of identifying whether it has the upgraded 30Kwh battery. I am aware that the VIN 10th digit identifies F for 27 Kwh and J for 30Kwh.

Hi John, there isn’t a battery condition indicator on the Kia like the Leaf no. And you should find any Soul on an 18 plate onwards should have the higher battery capacity. Thanks for sharing the info on the vin number too!
