The date is 3/4/22 ordered this harness from this guy. Received it in 3 days, quality product. I had some troubles with my truck having a blown fuse, the guy spent the better part of the day on the phone getting my issue sorted out. Harness is about as easy to install as you could want. Well, I finally got the center console and jump seat swap finished. I will add a couple of comments or tips for anyone that is doing this. Before you set the center console in the truck, you need to look at some plastic pieces that hide a support for the dash that is just to the right of the gas pedal. If you pause Mr. Gamboa's video at 5:57 you will see the bare support to the right of the gas pedal. There are two pieces of black plastic that hide that support that must be removed or the side skirt on the driver's side will never fit into place. ] Another tip is that the side skirts can only be installed after the console is bolted in place but BEFORE you snap the top of the console with all of the electronics into place. There are slots in the side skirts that accept a plastic blade that aligns the top to lock the skirts in place. If you don't know about these items, you will take the new console in and out several times because things just won't fit correctly. I hope that this helps someone.

I just got finished swapping out the jump seat for a center console using Phil's video and wiring harness. Everything worked just like he showed and it was super easy. If you are really serious about making this upgrade then get order the parts direct from GM and purchase a wiring harness from Phil. You cannot go wrong. And Phil is fantastic about answering questions if you have any. Thank you Phil for everything.

I bought my first console off LKQ. 2nd Console was off of eBay as a takeoff. Many on the GM-Trucks forum are buying new the GM Wholesale sites online. Not at all. If you have Carplay/Android Auto, you want to ensure you have the correct USB Hubs on the console (2016+ USB Ports) and have the correct USB Cables in order to retain Carplay/Android Auto.

If you want to buy it all new, I have a list of part #s for you. If you want to buy a used console, then any 2014 - 2018 will physically fit. If you can get a 2018, even better, as it will have the latest wireless charging module (if it has wireless charging). Be sure to not get the console that has rear system entertainment (RSE).

Phil - I am finally doing this swap in my 2015 Silverado with your plug and play harness and all of the extra brown/black, black/gray, and green/black cables. Looking at the HMI box tucked up under the dash, every port is being used. Is that correct? If I reuse the glove box USB that is going to the green port, what happens to the cables that are currently plugged into the other HMI ports? I'm not sure that I need the green/black cable since I already have one in use for my glove box USB. Do the original cables to the HMI just get unplugged and remain "dead" once I use all of the new cables? I would like to see a screen shot of the HMI box with everything plugged in and unplugged dangling cables before you put the glove box back. It would also have been helpful to have 30 seconds to minute of video to show you actually removing that HMI box. I really don't see how it can possibly come out.

Ellen - The video showing the cables used is outdated. There is an updated diagram, that when followed, will lose the single upper glove port. This is how GM does it on trucks with a factory console. The cables plugged into the green port and black ports of the HMI get unplugged and just left unplugged. You'll use a new Green/Grey USB Cable and a g Black/Brown USB cable. The grey and brown ends will go to the front of the console. Hope this helps.

There are (2) Available USB Outputs in the HMI. One port is for the glove box port (if you have one). The other port feeds the jump seat USB Hub. When retrofitting a console, the console has (2) Sets of USB Hubs. So in your case, yes. You'll have to omit the glove box port to free up the green port jack on the HMI.

Bolts to secure the bracket to the dash - will be existing bolts that hold the plastic trim. The new bolts that secure the console to the brackets are the same 7mm bolts you have throughout the dash. Take one of those to Ace Hardware or other big box store and find a match for them. I have a ton of those in my garage myself. Shoot me an email and can mail some to you.

Phil I’m looking at trading my Console with my buddies jumpseat both trucks are 2014 Chevrolet is there extra wiring I should need we’re both trucks will be side by side in the garage

What you'll find is the center console truck will have it disconnect under the dash while the jump seat truck will have its disconnect under the front passenger seat.

Both truck will need a conversion harness to make the link from the disconnect to the console.

Hey Phil I just completed console upgrade. I got ur harness with gn-gry, bk-br, & 16 pin. All outlets on new console work but when using USB ports my phone looks like it's charging but I get message that it is not connecting to truck software. Using same cable i use in house. It's Android phone. Connect per drawing u sent in text. Used green toinput & bk to other USB port. What am I missing

Hey there William, is the front USB Hub a Double USB Port or Triple? Also, the USB inside the storage compartment, does it have an SD Card slot. If yes to either, those USB hubs are the older 14/15 hubs and don't support CP/AA. If they are the newer style 2016+ hubs (without SD Card slot and Double Port up front), then try deleting your phone profile in the radio menu, remove any MyLink/Intellink from your phone, then reconnect and setup.

I have a 2015 chevy Silverado it’s a bone stock truck I wanted to replace the jump seat console and it has a car charger a aux and 2 USB ports if I did this would that screw up the harness if the one piece console has more features and outlets? Thanks!

It would be nice, if this upgrade could be done, with a 2018 Silverado Custom Crew Cab, with the floor mounted 4wd shifter, and the 7" radio screen. Any suggestions?

greg juan - A few have done it. You have to modify the console for the shifter to pass through. The knob needs to be removed.

Bill LeCluse - No data yet to determine the path for this upgrade on new body style 2019. If you have the LD carryover 2019 or HD 2019, it’s the same.

@Phi Gamboa, Great video.... Just checking I didn't see anything intro video about the wireless charing lid working. I already have a console in my 14 without the charging pad on the lid. Any ideas on where to start to get the charing pad put in to mine ?

Dannon Voight - The most OEM method would be to find a 2018 Lid that already has wireless charging. Any other previous year will have the older charging module which doesn’t charge iPhones or newer android phones. If your truck came with the console, you’re best bet will be to splice the lid cable to the rear 12V plug.
