Not all heros wear capes. Some of them teach us how to change our spark plugs. Thank you so much. I had the job done in less than 30 mins.

I've always wanted to learn how to do minor repairs, such as this, to my vehicle. I'm going to start now to finally do it and teach my children how to maintain basic repairs in their cars so they (or myself) won't have to pay an arm/leg for labor charges. Thank you for your video. It's simple, straightforward and right to the point! You have a new subscriber as of today.

Them sentra that year that cvt trans fluid and filter change. They will fail. I did mine at 50k and tbey weren't kidding. Grey sludge the mag traps full filters full. Glad I did that right time. Ita cvt so it a whole diff process no lipstick. But not complicated. Mine was so bad I did a spill abd fill then level off week later. They never Gave me an issue. Good driving and cvt service every 45k and mine has 182 in rust belt

Was told by most of the mechanic shops where I stay, are going to charge me $950 to tune up not including the cost of service, spark plugs and filters, and a new head gasket cause in order to change my filters they have to remove the head gasket and once that part is removed they have to order a new one cause they won’t put back the old one. Since they have to order the part, they were gonna charge me for shipping, plus the cost of the part and service to install it as well. It was already reaching almost $4000 just for a tune up on my 2015 Sentra 😭
@SoCoMechanic15 күн бұрын
Please tell me you did not let them do that! Find a different shop. Head gaskets are not reusable indeed but they are not part of a tuneup either. So not sure what they are doing or why.

Thought it might be more to parts and that ridiculous that they charge 400 For a tuneup this is something that I can do thank you
@SoCoMechanic2 жыл бұрын
This is all that a standard tune up usually consists of dealers and some shops will try to up sell on some unneeded parts and repairs usually.

Does that Sentra have a slight whine coming from the CVT when it's in Park or Neutral? Assuming it's not a manual transmission. My mom just bought a 2018 Sentra and I'm curious if it's normal for them to sound that way. It sounds like a gear whine noise, but it goes away when in Drive or Reverse and drives fine. I've been searching up videos here on KZbin of others who own them and it seems like some of them make that noise and others don't. I changed the CVT fluid and that seemed to improve it a bit. I'm just trying to determine if I'm worrying for nothing. LOL. My guess is that the noise is the steel belt and pulleys freely spinning when in Park or Neutral. Could very well be normal and I'm just not familiar with them.

As a disclaimer we traded this one in on a Honda civic. Because the cvt was starting to slip at Highway speeds. That is a pretty well known shortcoming from Nissan is their transmissions. Not sure about the wine.
