if a ratchet isn't meant to break bolts loose why the fuck are they so long.
@Floridaman4575 сағат бұрын
Wrong tool bro. You use a flex head when you need to use a flex head, not when you wanna break a big ass bolt loose and have plenty of clearance

I recently criticized the mechanics who buy snap on tool boxes, declaring that such a box has no merit over a box from the likes of harbor freight or lowes/home depot house brands. I was met with a response of "spoken by someone who hasn't had to rely on their tools for a living". But I hardly consider a toolbox a tool. It contains and organizes the tools. The same reason someone buys an exotic car, it's not because it's a rational decision, it's because they want to empty their wallet to fill other people's eyes. True circus behavior. I've got a pittsburgh long handled flex head ratchet that I've been using for the better part of 5 or 6 years and that bad boy is still working flawlessly. I think it was 15-20 bucks?

Those bolts are put on with an air impact..put a squirt of penetration oil and your Walmart ratchet will never break.

Lifetime warranty, which you have to SHIP the tool to them, which will become more expensive and the warranty is IF THEY THINK you didn't abuse it. No thanks. Those HART ratchets are disposables.

You have to break it first. This thing is indestructible!

@SoCoMechanic all ratchets have a breaking point. I agree that if you don't abuse it, it should last a lifetime. However, when I use the 1/2" drive, I DO NOT CARE IT IT BREAKS. I want the fastener LOSE. No matter what.

Do people really believe all these tool companies are making there own tools somewhere, they are all made at the same manufacturing plant, with different names and slightly different look. They are all basically the same

My mechanic uses all walmart tools. Every knuckle is busted in both hands and every bolt and nut on my truck is rounded off.

Snap On ripping off poor mechanics for 100 years now with LIMITED lifetime warranty WOW.Ever noticed the best tool box in the shop is the owners.What Punjabi shops have is a massive wall with all the tools traced out like our dads did.All tools put away every night.No more $60,000 boxes just a small assortment of hand tools each tech. has.🤔

I have Craftsman ratchets I bought back in 79 as a 16 year old. (Yeah I’m old). They been with me through my career as an Industrial Mechanic / Millwright. All it needs is pop the snap spring off the cover, remove, clean out and repack with grease every few years.

Use whatever works for you. But will Sears, Walmart, Harbor Freight, etc. come to your job every week, warranty your tools on the spot? Most of all will they let you walk away with $200 worth of tools for a $20 payment? It's all about the weekly service.

There is never ever a reason in this world to spend the kind of money that snap-on requires. The tow truck guy and all of them is just it's a scam. They ask for so much money for such basic tools. And when it's under warranty some of the tool trucks that I've been to. They have such an ordeal that you have to go through just to get your tool fixed. It's just not worth the hassle. It's not worth the debt. I'm glad that I went with gearwrench
