That last sentence written in the outro was well needed to provide credibility. Because this was purely an advertisement. Which is fine the way it way presented. But it appears to me that magazines like this and all the other channels are very anxious to lose ad cash from the manufacturers. It is a risky route to go because in the long run readers and viewers will perceive you only as presenters with no testing competence and/or credibility when it comes to choosing an actual boat with the need to find things that aren't so cleverly thought through.

Every boating magazine is like that. I can't recall reading a bad review of a boat ever.

Boston Whaler makes an awesome boat. One of the best boats I have ever owned. However, while back in the boat market again I went a different direction then Boston Whaler. The main reason being that Boston Whaler is falling behind times. Very limited on custom options. A 35 foot boat should have a fighting chair option, livewell to small, step haul, seakeeper, folding tower, stuck with one name electronics and the list goes on and on. You can get better built boats or just as good that can be custom built to your taste at a cheaper price. Check out Intrepid boats for one. Plus a slow boat with a slow "bad" cruising speed

Cheaper yes, but I wouldn't say as good. Since you mentioned Intrepid boats, I've spent extensive time on the Intrepid 375 center console and the fit and finish isn't up to the standard of the Whaler 370 center console, it's not even close. Whether the premium you pay for the higher quality Boston Whalers is worth it is debatable, but Whaler is still the top of the line that I've seen when it comes to production center console fishing boats. I do agree that they should be have many more options (and some of the option prices they currently have are outrageous).
