Sorry bout that, I should’ve said that in the video. If you search google for “buick lacrosse j501 recall” it should be the first result. Without the j501 in the search you get many results. You’d think I’d have found the recall when I got the wiring diagrams the night before, but… Thanks for watching amigo!

I like that you jumped the wire to verify the switch it’s self worked and the motor was working just fine. I also liked that you scoped out the com lines as well. Good diag.

Nice find. Thanks for sharing your thought process as well. Do you come across a lot of intermittent problems in your field? In the trucking industry, seems like every other truck I deal with has an intermittent problem where I spend more time trying to duplicate the customer concern than the actual repair. Most of the time it’s a wire or terminal problem.

Thanks for the kind words amigo. It’s very rare that I have an intermittent call because the shops normally won’t take them, but when I do, I talk to the customer directly and together we work through it.

I so appreciate folks like you that can give us a clear understanding of problems with the power window. I had a 2003 Monte Carlo for 12 years and learned to do basic repairs with the help of You Tube (1A Auto Repair). I was able to rip out my door panel and change the motor and I got the power window working again. Now I own a Buick Lacrosse and I've got the same issue. Not sure if driver side has a separate fuse but I switched the fuses for front and rear and I'm still getting power on front passenger side so I don't believe it's the fuse. Is there a different/separate relay that controls the drivers side or am I going to have to open the panel again. I think there is some other relay under the arm rest that has nothing to do with the motor being bad. Anyways thank you for your video looks like tomorrow I'll be pulling the tools out again. The worst part is having to worry about breaking the clips when trying to pull the panel off otherwise its a pretty simple fix from what i recall. Fear is the worst!

Do you have power and ground at the switch on the driver side? I find it’s easier to do testing directly at the switch so as to not have to take the panel off.

@@TiosAutoDiagnostics I just came out now to do that. I'm pretty sure it's the switch though because I checked all the fuses and the wires that run to door. I'll let you know the outcome

Doesn't look like I'm getting any power from the wires on master window switch that controls all 4 power windows. The mirror part works though but the wires also don't light up. Is that odd? They are 2 separate plugs.

Check for a break in the rubber boot at the door hinge, that’s where I find most that are missing power.

It’s a possibility, but I couldn’t say for sure without looking at a wiring diagram or looking inside the door

What diagnostic tools did you use to test the controls? have similar problem with a 2013 buick lacrosse impacting driver door lock not locking all doors, left and right side mirrors no control either from shifting in reverse or switch and driver master won't control other windows but controls driver window

I used volt meter and wiring diagram mostly. I used the pico scope to see the network signal. The Autel scanner showed no problem, but I couldn’t use the bi-directional feature on the driver’s window only, so I knew it was a communication issue because I had good power and ground.
