Just traded a 2015 z51 stingray for a camaro 1le. You drive both and you will know why. Especially if your a manual driver... 1le has a nice rear end and 373. Plus a higher ratio 5/6 gear. Plus the wider tires than stingray really stabilize the car. And my 2018 is way louder than 2015 even though same lt1.

Nice car and color with a good tire and rim combination. I look forward to the next review of the Corvette by a Camaro owner.

What rims and wheel specs are on the 1LE? Looking to get a 14-15 in the future and those look substantially lighter than the stock ZL1 wheels from the factory.

Hi William. As for the wheel/tire combo I have on my 1LE as shown in the video, they are my "track" wheels, Forgeline forged GA1R Open Lug, no center cap, gloss black finish. At the front they are 19x11 ET20 and weigh about 22 lbs each. At the rear the specs are 19x11.5 ET40, and are lighter than the fronts at 20.2 lbs. I run a 5mm spacer at the front due to my high negative camber which pulls the wheel tight against the spindle. Less camber would allow no use of a spacer. Forgelines are robust wheels, and this very same wheel is used on many pro road racecars without failure. I use the curbing at Pitt Race and have no worries about a wheel failure. The OE 1LE/ZL1 wheels are also very robust but are heavier. Same goes with the 14-15 Z/28 19" wheels. Very strong, but a bit heavier. As for my tire choice, I am using Bridgestone RE-71R, 305/30 at all four corners. They weigh about 31 lbs each. The OEM wheels and tires on a 13-15 1LE are the same black wheels found on some 12-15 ZL1. I say "some" because the ZL1 also had the polished/machined aluminum faced wheels, which other than the design and finish, they offered the same specs as the black ones. Specs are: front 20x10 ET23, rear 20x11 ET43. Those wheels are made for GM by Alcoa, they are forged and weigh about 29-30lbs each. The tires on the ZL1 are Goodyear Eagle F1 SuperCar G:2, 285/35 100Y at the front, 305/35 104Y at the rear. Now here is is big difference between the ZL1 and the 1LE, the 1LE wears the ZL1's front tire at both the front and rear, 285/35 all around. The 285 on the rear 11" wide wheel is stretched (in part) to help move the balance of the 1LE towards oversteer. The GoodYears weigh 31/32 lbs respectively.

Just sold a z51 for a 1le. Put a true car guy or driver behind the wheel and you’ll know why. 7 speed is trash btw.

I have 6th gen 1le. It’s way better than z51. One thing I think you’ll notice driving both is the Corvette drives very nervous in comparison.

They need more meat on tires is problem.

Did you have mag ride in the Z51?

OnlineCarShow Camaro is bloated, heavy, big, not as sexy as Vette, starts out as a 20,000 rental car, etc etc. Also slower of course. If you fell nervous, get the Grand Sport.
