The tape is called 130 c tape its for high voltage splice wires ...but it will work for that ass well

Mine was doing same thing, I have a 2014 Silverado I started with the gas cap as well and stopped, I just started tightening up the cap and backing it off like a 1/8 or 1/4 turn so it didn’t build up pressure and it’s been good for over a year. I used to take gas cap off and it would be under extreme pressure and just Hiss air for like 10 second’s not sure the best fix but I know the cheapest fix. I’m thinking of actually altering the one way valve in the gas cap to let it breath more. Think about it how long have cars worked and ran without this nonsense 🤷🏼‍♂️ was up to me I would pull 50 pounds of wire out and put a hirise aluminum intake and a holly 650 on her and let her eat!! I probably will one day

Facing the same problem. Replaced everything but the vapor canister. That's next

@bowman7840 I ended up replacing my vapor canister then but it ended up being the top of the fuel pump was rotted out. The top of the pump on the tank is metal and mine was super rusty and leaking. Had to drop the fuel tank and replace the whole unit. If you're in the rust belt, that could be your issue.

After fueling up, it did pop off once before $10 or so. And then, it did fuel up flawlessly after this.

Thanks for the info bud, I'll be going down this road myself soon and not very many videos covering newer chevys that get into these details. I feel your struggle with those clips, and they don't make then all the same. You figure out one puzzle just to get another puzzle. Lol.

Sounds like a bad vent solenoid at the cannister. Hope ya got it fixed!
