The 5.3L engine in the Silverado is IDENTICAL to the 5.3L engine in the Sierra.

There is really nothing major that I don't like about the Silverado, the only thing maybe is it's not as quiet as the Sierra however the Silverado is still very quiet and offers a really great quiet highway ride.

What you were hearing, was probably the ac fan, if the ac was turned on, both this and the GMC have the exact same powertrains

I like the new GM pickups, and for me thats saying alot because im a big Honda/Acura fanatic, i like the GMC truck more than the chevy, IF Honda does not come out with a new Ridgeline and if there is now improvment on it, i might consider the GMC, because the new Toyota Tundra in my opinion is not impressive and i'm not a Ford or Dodge fan,

The Ridgeline will never be a truck. It's kind of styled after the old timey El Caminos.

I have many problems with my 2014 Z71 squeaks and rattles in poorly constructed seats. Motor clatter. Have try to have Gm make repairs, no luck with that. Have found nothing but unethical behavior from Gm and its dealers. Nothing but contracted flying monkeys at several of the dealerships that just don't care. Quietest riding truck on the road. I buy a new truck every 3 years have always been a Gm customer. If they tell you that you will 2 year bumper to bumper warranty. Think again. Gm i s like a old dead fish rotten from the head down.
