Your partially correct about the kitchen. The table was orientated with the balk line end actually in the kitchen so you would literally break from the kitchen.

+johnny t - i agree - i know he was pissed at himself but dont take it out on the opponent like it's his fault. I like dennis orcollo and this was uncharacteristic of him.

Been awhile since I shot some pool. What is this new rack that is being used? On the 8-8 hill break, it looks to alter the path of the balls a bit. Being moved slightly from its racked position. And when did the 7 Ball change colors?

its called a "magic rack", and I believe they changed the color of the balls to make it easier to see on tv/youtube

Burnin Green That is a pretty cool rack. But it got moved by the balls on that last break at 8-8, possibly altering the layout of the rack. I guess the players and ref noticed it, and did not worry. Makes sense about the color change for tv/youtube. Thanks. I need to get a cue again and start playing. I miss the game. Love all these different matches that can be watched from around the world, good stuff.

***** The Magic Rack is a super thin piece of plastic with small notches in it that are just a hair tighter than where the balls typically sit on the table in rack formation. Therefore, it forces the balls to 'lean' in to each other resulting in a very tight rack. It can, on occasion, cause ball paths to change, but it does not affect the outcome of the break too much and is usually removed as soon as possible after the break. It more than makes up for that deficiency by the repeatable good rack as well as taking less time to rack by not needing to make so many adjustments to the traditional triangle. The balls they are using are Cyclop brand balls. This is a relatively new manufacturer and they have their own preferred color set. The colors have nothing to do with being better for TV or KZbin. I've enjoyed using them out in Vegas. They do take some getting used to, but they actually roll and perform better than typical ball sets. They are held to tighter tolerances, all (including the cue ball) being much closer to 6 oz than other sets, which can range quite a bit in weight from ball to ball.
