2014 Daytona 500 - Green-white-checkered

This is the best Daytona 500 after 1998 and it not even close. This was a throwback to the golden days of Nascar in the 90's. The race even ended with the same Flags his dad won with the Yellow and Checkers. Wow. The sound of the cars also just majestic!

Might be one of the last years where crowds were still big. Though I notice crowds are getting decent size again now. Partly due to lowering capacity, but people are still watching in-person except at tracks like Indy.

These were some of the highest non-COT speeds. The top lap speed for this race was Austin Dillon at over 206 mph I believe.

I was in the stands that night got rained out went back to our room was watching T.V and it came back on so we jumped back in the car went back to the muddy race track people stuck but it was a great finish JR was my man and his father had tears in my eyes that night when he won

No one was better at leading a plate race. He would work both lines to stall the runs perfectly. Idk why more guys don’t do it. Just not as good as the ol’ Earnhardt boys!!
