I had a 2014 Hyper last year, rode 20k KM's on it, best bike I have ever ridden. The 821 engine has more HP than the 1100 engine, but a little less torque. Reason is the watercooled engine, they were able to pull out more HP than the old aircooled engines.Wet mode is 80 HP, easy throttle response. Sport should be 110 HP medium throttle response. Race should be 110 HP high throttle response.

Lightemup2005 Yeah thats what it felt like. It also felt like in Race mode that the powerband was shifted higher in the rpms for more of the high rpm racing power range

Great review of an amazing bike. I love my '14 Hyper SP. More smiles per miles than any bike I've ever owned, besides my real Supermoto. They're both amazing in their own ways though.

I have one of these booked for a 5-day rental from Milan in Sep, staying on Lake Como. I think I'm going to enjoy it!

TheAK47s Hey man, I know you are pretty knowledgeable about supermoto's etc. and I've been looking to buy one. At how many miles should I be concerned, or in other words, what do you consider is high in miles. I'm new to that world and don't want to buy something that doesn't have much life left, but I'm also not trying to buy new. Thanks in advance if you answer this.

+Coe Moto ehhhh... Id say youre good with stuff that has less than 10-15 ish thousand miles on it. But they have to be maintained very well. I mean my DRZ that I bought from TheGardenSnake had 60,000 miles on the original engine when I sold it
@CoeMoto9 жыл бұрын
TheAK47s Okay thanks dude. The DRZ is what I'm looking for too, so that's good to hear.

haha nice review man, your excitement reminds me of when I first rode mine!Someone jacked up that shift lever eh? Just a few corrections, the windscreen is not stock, that exhaust is not stock, exhaust brand is SC project. I have over 11K miles on mine now, still running strong, just a few strange electrical issues at 10K that have been intermittent off and on. I'd highly recommend it to anyone who "can" ride it and is not dimensionally challenged.

dude your review was really helpful. Did you have a chance to compare or test ride the monster or streetfighter. I'm debating between all 3 of them

The 821 engine actually makes more power than the old 1100. That's probably why they downsized. I rode the new Hypermotard though and it really is a great bike. Plenty of power and comfortable.

TheAK47s Thanks will check it out. I've got a 2015 hypermotard. Less than a month old 2000 km. Such an exciting street bike that does city and twisties so well.

Id be curious to see how it does against a ktm 690...
@TheAK47s9 жыл бұрын
MotoManic I think it would depend on the area or track, but in the tighter stuff I believe the KTM would give it a hard time, but on the straights I think the Hyper would take the KTM down. Would be a very close contest though
@Lightemup20059 жыл бұрын
MotoManic I went from a 2014 Hyper to a 2014 KTM 690 Duke. While the Duke is a great bike and a good engine, the Hyper blows it away, honestly.
@motomanic17459 жыл бұрын
yeah id believe it power wise if its 800 some cc's.. the hyper would win in street and 690 off road ill bet really tight tracks would be close probably TheAK47s Lightemup2005

What's funny with these is, I can flat foot easily, but the cockpit is too small for me once my feet are up.

35" seat height _is_ pretty crazy for a street bike and that thing has like no suspension travel despite the height... WTF, dumb design if you ask me. But that engine sounds awesome! :/

I wonder why a motorcycle reviewer doesn't focus on their riding skills and avoid reciting the spec sheet.
