That's not something that I hear every day, switching from BMW to Ford. I guess it depends on how old and what BMW it is.

D Gu. 4 years between cars today is a lot and technology develops really fats. All the assistace systems make a big difference, as well as engine development and weight/ efficiency of modern cars. Enjoy your new Ford.

Auto Review More to break. It will have a very high cost of ownership. That is the difference to mature/good drivers who don't need any assistance.
@AutoReviewCom10 жыл бұрын
Stinky Cheese Driver assistant systems have nothing to do with mature and experienced drivers, it has to do with assisting in dangerous situations that might end up in an accident that could result in injuries or even death. Those driver systems are good and I support them fully. I would even go as far as to request every government to not allow new cars on the road that don't have automatic radar assistance to initiate emergency stopping, blind spot assistance and more. Airbags, seat belts, ABS and ESP were the beginning, now all those other systems have to become standard in all classes, even in city cars. And that should be the law!

Also Q5 3.0 tfsi vs Explorer 3.5 v6 which felt faster
@AutoReviewCom10 жыл бұрын
I did drove the Q5 only as 2.0l TFSI (see video review), but if you compare the Audi 3.0l with the Ford Explorer Sport 3.5l the Audi wins by 0.4 seconds (Audi 5.5 sec. & Ford 5.9 sec.) in the 0-60 mph sprint. The Audi is the logical choice as it is smaller and lighter, the two cannot be compared as the Audi is a 5 seater while the Ford can accommodate 7 people.
@1989rs50010 жыл бұрын
Auto Review Yes but I think for the price the Ford is thirstier and yet slower and heavier means dosen handle as good as Audi and suspension is stiffer Ford has a long way to go I think to challenge Germans
@AutoReviewCom10 жыл бұрын
jandj Godwin It is for sure due to its higher weight and the V6 engine is american build, they tend to be thirstier and therefore not as good on fuel economy and CO2 emissions. US cars aren't as regulated as the European brands due to less strict emission laws. Don't get me wrong, the Ford is a good car, it has its purpose. Comparing a Ford with an Audi isn't fair for both, they appeal to different buyers and they both have their pro's and con's.

Auto Review So how about the new Lincoln MKZ with v6 and AWD vs the Audi A6 with 3.0 tfsi , have you driven that 1 I mean the MKZ
@AutoReviewCom10 жыл бұрын
jandj Godwin I cannot say anything about the Lincoln. I have not driven a Lincoln yet, still many more manufacturers that I need to get in touch with, but I am sure I will include all brands over time. Thanks.

@westerncowhand78146 жыл бұрын
Plenty of room. Last body style (which was narrower) had the 4.6l v8 previous modular generation. Issue is packaging (transverse vs longitudinal and perhaps structural (ie unibody vs. body on frame). Rumor is next generation will fix this.

I've owned 2 of the 2014 explorer sports now...biggest piece of crap of a vehicle I have ever owned. Very fast no doubt about that with a 365 hp 350 ft lbs torque twin turbo V6. But not built very well and front wheel drive is a bit squirrely. The auto switch 4wd is really not what I prefer for 4wd. A reliability rating of 2.5 out of 5 is really stretching it. Both had transmission issues as well as transfer case and multiple electronic issues...at 49k miles I would have expected more bang for the buck. They are only rated to around 200 to 250k miles in longevity. Very roomy and good cargo room. Just not overall a good investment. Toyota or Honda products would be a much better investment.
@Hulkmastersteve2 жыл бұрын
I have a 2014 explorer sport and it's great. 72k miles, drives amazing compared to some other vehicles at that mileage. I like how your primary complaint is 200-250k miles isn't enough for you? Did you expect to have a single car the rest of your life? I have a cheap warranty that covers power train an additional 100k over odometer of 72k. I love this SUV...it's amazing for the money and right now you can get them affordably because people think 2014 and they don't want it. This 2014 has plenty of creature comforts that make base 2020+ models look horrible. I have a totally opposed opinion to what you're stating. Do you think Hyundai vehicles go 300k?? LOL. And once again, I can tell you're not logistical because a V6 has less of a lifespan than an inline 4, it's just less combustion stress on the engine block. I can go on and on, wondering why you're comparing two completely different manufacturers/vehicle types.

Thank you for your feedback. In the end the Explorer is a great car, but I believe it should be forgiven, that a Ford will not make me feel the same as an AMG or a Rolls-Royce for that matter. A Ford GT or a Roush Mustang would be receiving a different approach too. But I did like the Explorer. cheers
