I show you how to basically change the spark plugs in my 2014 Ford Fusion with the 2.0 EcoBoost engine. I also discuss the future services of this car which include oil change, belt change, transmission fluid change and coolant change. These are service items that need to be replaced at 100,000 miles.

Thanks for the video. Just changed plugs on my 2913 2.0, with 98,000 miles. Plugs looked like the one you took out but some of the electrode was definitely worn away. It does idle smoother now. Didn’t use anti seize. Hopefully will get another 98,000 miles. Then it will be new car time anyway.

Great video! I was looking for a video to see if I could justify being lazy and having the dealership change the plugs on my 14 2.0, but after watching this, I don't think I can lol. I usually just put a dab of anti-seize on the plug and let it get spread by the screwing in of the plug. Less chance of making a mess and it coats the plug evenly. I also like to put a dab of dielectric grease into the boot. Keeps the boot from sticking and helps seal out any moisture that might get in there.

Thanks pal. I got a 2014 Se 2.0 and will be doing plugs soon. Purge valve went on me too. Was a bitch to start after getting gas. All fixed now. I also replaced the rims to black steel 17 inch rims. More rubber on tires and cheaper rim replacement. I run mobile 1 fully synthetic and oil filter too. I also have a 2012 fusion S with the 2.5 engine with 151k on it. Original engine and transmission. I did idle pulley, tensioner, and belt. Steering column went on me. But that's really it. I just did radiator flush and runs alot smoother. Fusion's are tanks and long as u maintain them.

Anyone who has a full and clear understanding of oils, will tell you that full synthetic is not better than semi synthetic oil. And it costs more. I know multiple ford mechanics who have told me to only use semi synthetic.

Do yourself a favor and buy a proper set of feeler gauges to measure plug gap.... anything but that pot metal thing... Plugs could be cleaned, gapped, and run another 100k miles. But I change 'em too. I do keep the last good pull-offs as backups. Do yourself another favor and invest in the Motorcraft Nickel-based antiseize. One can lasts a life and it's the best I've ever had for high-temp.

I had a client that refused my suggestions & services on his 2015 Fusion, to replace with the timing belt kit. So he took it to cheap shop to replaced 4 spark plugs for $155.00. And 16,000 late the engine is shot. Just over 125K, check engine light, oil was empty and dried & the timing belt snapped.

So I just bought a 15 fusion titanium and I bought some spark plugs exactly like this one in the video, just different Id number and I was wondering what the gap should be cause I here it should be at .50”, .51”, and now .30”. Which one is it

You can call the parts store and ask them what that gap is on the plugs. It’s been a while since I made the video and I don’t remember what the gap is on the plugs.

Aren't the coated threads seize proof already? There is a lot of back and forth on whether you need anti- seize or not.

Yeah and they are 100,000 mikes spark plugs. You may trade it off before they go bad.

Yeah it’s not to hard but you have to be careful righting down the plugs. You don’t want to strip them out.

You are lucky you don't have oil flooded on spark plugs. 120K: removed the valve cover 1. valve cover gaskets 2. inlet tubing gaskets 3. 4 coils 4. 4 spark plugs 5. thermostat & gasket 6. coolant flushed & added 7. pcv 8. oil/oil filter 9. transmission fluid drained & added x. air filter, belt & timing belt kit You will scream when you got to replace the front & rear Crankshaft seals. And pray your oil pump is good. But the lousy seal/gasket are worn & cracks= leaks

You can't use autolites in New fords. Always came back me with misfires. Older fords--yes

@@ThezNutzGarage FWIW I am a fan of using neversieze on a lot of bolts on cars and motorcycles. However an engine builder and tuner stated to me that the neversieze on ignition spark plug threads, can cause a small but still a loss ,electrically speaking, compared to a clean plug to head grounding for the plug to the cylinder head. I've always wanted to know if it's really a scientific/electrical fact though. I never noticed a difference in how the engine ran with/without neversiese on plug threads.
