Yeah. Honestly, me neither, but for one thing, wrong time to start screaming (regarding the rider) I mean. This is coming from someone who rides horses and sponsors those horses, as well as owns a horse of her own, and respectfully, as well as in my humble opinion, that wasn't exactly the right way to handle the horse that woman was riding within the context of that particular situation, let alone that moment. No wonder the horse balked at that jump and that particular rider fell off after the jump. I've fallen off of horses too, which isn't any fun and sucks, just to be clear, but no horse ever should be handled that way when something is wrong in the horse's mind and therefore, in their eyes. I'm sorry to that woman if she had a scary fall and wasn't able to successfully get through the rest of the horse trial run and I just want to say and point out, as well as acknowledge, that it is a scary and disappointing experience to have had. My point is simply this: horses should be ridden with respect and not be unnecessarily berated for something that went wrong, like not clearing a jump correctly. I think that's all I should say on that subject. I just felt the need to point out that it's not the horse's fault that she ended up falling off. There was just something about that particular first jump that made him (or her) just not want to jump over it.

I sort of wish I would have heard more riders praising their horses for taking them through the question even after giving it an obvious look. Number 149 did a really awesome job of letting her horse know that he was making the right choice by taking her over instead of bailing or running out. Not that anyone was really awful to their horses or anything (although there were a few questionables..I'm looking at you 150 and every unnecessary whip-er.) I just would have liked to see some more immediate positive reinforcement, ya know?

I usually don't agree with people who complain about bits and such, or about whips, but this is a little much. I can see a tap, but these are smacks. And the pulling can be a bit much too. As a pleasure English rider, many of these riders are cringe worthy, although not all of them are. =)

@aleynadunn389910 жыл бұрын
Awesome how they have the courage to jump that but they really need to work on position. That'll help them get over the jumps easier. I thought they were doing a dance on the horse! All over the place! Also they need to understand that because their moving so much their throwing the horses center of gravity off which is causing their refusals. They should not hit the horse for a mistake they made.

Some lovely animals (equine, of course), interesting to watch in-action confirmation variables over the same obstacle. Less so some of the riders - though 150’s mount seemed rather startled, understandable, by the sudden eruption of screeching - give me verbal encouragement over the crop anytime. Subbed.

@WazzaRitazza9 жыл бұрын
What she did was kind of cheating though... presented the horse after the first runout (which is technically another runout) and let him walk over and look at it (not allowed), then did the same at the second runout. It's good not to be mean to them, but you also can't be sneaky cheaty...
@songbird64142 жыл бұрын
@@WazzaRitazza I think at that point it was less about cheating and more about getting the horse to feel comfortable in her job. That was definitely a teaching moment, not a competitive one.

Can we just talk about rider 166 for a minute. Not only did she savagely yank on her horses mouth after he ran out on the first fence, she proceeded to beat him with her crop after he jumped all the jumps for her. That's how she thanks her horse! I'm sorry, I don't mean to be unkind, but _most_ of these people should _not_ be riding. All that bouncing and yanking and pulling ... and, _jeez!_ You guys are supposed to be _jockeys_ of _some_ sort! Skip a few meals, huh? I thought that one horse was gonna land splay-legged and just collapse onto it's belly and _die._ You want your horse to be faster ..? To jump higher? _Lose some weight._ _You,_ too, should be "athletic." Also? Stop _beating_ your horses! No matter your reason, it looks cruel and it makes people _cheer_ when you lose. Oh, yeah: I _loved_ the woman who kept saying, _"Good boy!"_ to her horse (he _was_ a good boy, too!). But I laughed and laughed at the next woman, #150, who _screamed_ at her horse, then slid across the animal's neck and hit the ground like a bag of dirt. Absolute highlight of the show. (Don't hit 'em and _don't scream at 'em_ either. LOL)

I don't know much about XC, so I'm wondering, why do they all have the reins so long?
@supertatertot978 жыл бұрын
When you do down banks you lean back and let the reins slip a bit. Having an up bank to a jump in a straight line immediately after really tests the honesty of your horse with limited mouth contact. Several of the horses run out of that up bank until the rider gets the reins and contact back.
