About as off road as 90% of American's will ever drive.. Fits nicely in it's segment and not as ugly as Jeep Cherokee. A solid buy at a good price.

I think it is an excellent car for its segment. You can't compare this SUV to the likes of the Grand Cherokee, Tahoe, Expedition or even the medium sized SUVs like the Escape. This car competes against the Chevy Trax and the Ford Ecosport and other compact SUV/crossovers. In that segment it might be the best car out there! It has way more interior space than the Trax and the exterior design just looks better. It is way more luxurious than the Ecosport and the other two just can't handle off-road like the Compass. This car looks small on the outside but the inside is very spacious for a compact SUV! Lots of leg room even for tall people. The 2.4L 4 cylinder engine is very efficient so you won't be wasting a lot of gas and it still has enough power. Very good car overall, if you are looking for a compact SUV, it doesn't get any better than this!

This is not a bad car with some improvements over prior years in safety and drive train.

You said the CVT was long gone but it is not. Mandatory with the Freedom II package.

This is a nice car to have in the market. Especially for those who look for a domestic alternative to those expensive foreign brands.

I recently purchased a 2018 compass Trailhawk. I thought it would be a great looking car with some more aggressive looking tires on it. Being trail rated and all I thought an all terrain tire would make it look more like a jeep should. After trying to find an all terrain tire for it I came to the conclusion that "trail rated" simply means you get a shiny thing stuck on the fender. I promise to do everything I can to help people from making the same stupid mistake I did by even considering a compass. Thanks for the only car I ever purchased that with 1500 miles I wish I never got it. GREAT ENGINEERING!!!!

This is literally; and without a doubt, the worst car i've ever driven. Get something else.

ceciliaariana90 Sorry this comment is so long I had the Compass as a rental car for a week; to attend my Great-Grandmother's funeral. The first thing I noticed was road noise; excessive amounts in my case. The next issue, came with no surprise, to me. The OEM/Stock tires suck. If you need to go anywhere where there is loose gravel or water, you can forget it with the stock tires. (This will be important later). So; I arrive in West Virginia for my Great Grandmothers funeral. We have the service, and everything goes "normal". As you may have guessed, the next step was to lay her to rest. So; myself, my mother, and grandparents get into the rental car and follow the hearse. Then the next issue occurs. The gas pedal sticks. Let me tell you this; going 70 around a 50 MPH curve isn't fun when you have almost no control. So. I managed to get it into neutral and pull over. I "fixed" the issue the best that I could, and proceeded. After a 40 MIN drive to the family cemetery, we arrive shaken, but uninjured. At this point; I should've just dropped off everyone, and gone and got a different car. I didn't. The next "task" was to climb a 9% grade Wet gravel road. (remember when I said this would be important?) The Compass went about half-way up, and got stuck. So I backed-up, and make 4 more futile attempts at getting up the incline. So. I parked the compass and walked up myself. Here's where it became extremely embarrassing. My Uncle drove his Pontiac Aztek up the hill on his first attempt. That was the last straw. Basically, I buried my Great Grandmother, and then did something I had never done before, and haven't done since. I returned the car to a local agency; And proceeded to swap it out for a(n) Ford Escape. I now own an Escape. I advise people to buy an Escape. But. That's still up to you.

I have been looking for a good SUV for a few months, I am just a senior in high school but I would be the driver in the family. This is is on my list because of pricing and MPG. I have looked at Kia, Jeep, Ford, Toyota, Honda, etc. But Jeep sticks out to me. Though I hear things like this is a girl car, it is virtually just a family car. The problems stated above are from one person, without a specified year. The reviews are like 4.5/5 on several websites. Do a little research and try it for yourself before disregarding this Jeep, also keep in mind, the long story was a rental. I would love to know if you settled for this or kept looking

Someday everyone will modify these and think these are "the last good jeeps" and complain about the new generations... Every generation thinks that.... I'll be waiting to see these in a used car for 3 thousands dollars... I'll be waiting.. :)

Whoever designed the interior needs to be fired. Also, a message to Jeep. AMERICANS DON'T WANT TO DEAL WITH PACKAGES OR TRIM LEVELS ANYMORE! The most resent technology should be standard on all vehicles!
@tiffanygustafson91899 жыл бұрын
im1greatman If all the most RECENT technology were to come standard on all vehicles that would increase the cost of the vehicle. Not everyone cares about all the bells and whistles, THAT is why extras are optional.
