Needed to “drop” the fuel tank on my 2014 Durango which requires removing the exhaust and driveshaft. Mine would not pull from the transmission flange. After soaking it with penetrating oil for a few days and futile attempts to get it apart I found this video. I used the “shock treatment” method, however a bit different approach. I rigged a small chain-fall attached to my receiver hitch drawbar inserted upside down. Choked the driveshaft with a 1-inch wide sling on the “step” of the driveshaft closest to the trans end. Then threaded two of the flange socket head cap screws back into the trans flange leaving them about a 1/4” from shouldering. Then with tension pulling on the driveshaft, stuck a decent size pin punch into the socket head screws… smacked each with a hammer a time or two and “wa-la” the flange separated from the trans!

I think im going to get the next bolt size up or two sizes and tap the driveshaft flange. Then use a bolt as the hammer off spot. Dont know trying to find a easier way too

It worked and took 10 minutes, I tapped driveshaft holes with 7/16-14 tap and 2 x 7/16 bolts at 3 inch length.
