@TheKudos2jen9 жыл бұрын
+Rhinomssy No... I'm picking up a 2014 Summit this weekend, hence my searches. lol. There are minor differences between the Overland and Summit but the performance off road will be the same.
@Rhinomssy9 жыл бұрын
+Jennifer “kudos2jen” Droppo Yeah there are subtle differences like no tow hooks on the summit and the head lights not moving with the steering wheel on the overland. But if you get a summit with the offroad adventure package 2 then it will have the skid plates and come with Quadra-drive 2. Also for going offroading or anything off regular pavement your going to need a different tire. It also makes the jeep lol a whole lot better than the stock tires. The Quadra-drive 2 4x4 system is amazing but without good all terrain tires for it to use its almost pointless to get.

@andrewhigdon83465 жыл бұрын
For real man. These guys got out of their comfort zone and risked messing up their newer GC and had a blast and demonstrated the beauty of good engineering, which is also a statement about the accomplishments of mankind. Sound heady? Sorry. Those guys were having so much fun. It’s also notoriously difficult to convey the steepness of terrain with regular cameras. Sometimes you can see how the saplings are growing “at an angle” but not an angle to flat ground. And worst of all; POSERS? Posers would be Kickin the big fat tires and stupid black rims with fake beadlocks and of course dressed like IndyFuckingAna Jones but the embroidered Jeep cap and a fanny pack with an iPad instead of treasure pouch and whip. These guys were the polar opposite of posers. They were doers. Factory basic stock GC tires and all. Bam!! Bring it. I once had to take my nearly brand new 2005 GC non 4X4, through a 5 foot deep ditch that was dry, but I couldn’t afford to get stuck, and I couldn’t afford to NOT get my equipment that had been left inside the property and all the gates were locked. I had about a 1’ space on either side of the truck to miss the gate post and a 4”x4” post. Ugh. And I had to cross at like a 45 degree angle. I wasn’t worried about it flipping, but I wasn’t sure how my uphill rear tire would cope with grip while the downhill right rear tire was hangin in the air. So I just aimed and jabbed the throttle knowing the back end would slide over a bit since there was no way the rear end wouldn’t slip to the right going up the other side of the ditch. Well was I forevermore surprised!! I was careful not to spin the back tires but I needed enough speed to blow through the obstacle if I lost all traction, basically get through with inertia. Driver side got scratched above back tire by an unseen protrusion. Rubbed it out and touched it with red Sharpie before wife saw, but she saw the shitty touch up later. Anyway, the left front end started to rise sharply and even though it was late at night, all I could see was sky and treetops. I didn’t want to get stuck so I stayed in it and the left front wheel finally dropped with a gentle thud. It had to be 3-4 feet under that tire at one point. But I never “felt” the tire leave the ground! Unreal and quite a feeling. I got out and looked around, kissed the truck, then hauled ass down a long straight dirt road with just fog lights on and I forgot about the whoop-de-doos about 50 yards apart and I had to be doing 45mph when that truck launched and landed square on all fours on the backside of the jump, I mean hill. I had driven that dirt road a million times during the day and with a golf cart most of the time. Those little humps seemed like nothing at the time. Wholly shit that was fun!! Risky but fun. Jeep. Don’t underestimate them.

Does your GC have Quadra Lift air suspension or is this all normal height? My 2018 Limited has 265/60 18 which calculates to 30.4 diameter and 10.4 width and the front already looks like it doesn't have enough room to go larger diameter. The 265/70 18 you have here looks like it calculates to 32.6 diameter same width - but that's a big difference of 2 inches so just wondering.

I think they are the best All Terrain tire of right now. I did my research on them and the Nitto Terra Grappler G2 and these came out on top. I've used the first version of the Terra Grapplers on another jeep I have and they were good but not nearly as good as these. Also the size of this tire on this type of vehicle is huge, meaning this size for is made for a heavy duty pickup like a Chevy 2500 of F250, something that's going to be doing a lot of hauling. When I bought them at Costco the mechanic said that with the new upgrades BFG made with this tire if I don't get 90,000 miles out of them I am retarded because the toe is made for easy much more than I could put them through on this type of vehicle. They are quiet and ride excellent and I've driven them in mud and show no problems yet.

They are BF Goodrich KO2's 265/70 R18. They are larger than the original tires but I love them. More aggressive look, strong and super functional. The only thing with the larger tire is that it will throw your speedometer off and the faster you go the bigger the difference in actual speed. For instance when the speedometer says I'm doing 40mph the actual speed is 42mph and when I'm doing 70mph I'm actually doing 74.5mph. I took it to the dealership to see if they could recalibrate it to the new tires size and the closest calibration they have is the one it was already set at, so just keep that in mind if you get the larger tires.

+Rhinomssy RIght on, I went to Costco and the tech wrote down 265/60 R18. Did you have to sign off the waiver of warranty to get the wider ones? it obviously doesn't look like you have any rubbing issues. My JGC doesn't have the quadra lift suspension, but it is 4x4. I wonder if it will rub on mine
@Rhinomssy9 жыл бұрын

@gosseman9 жыл бұрын
+Cash Miller FYI those tires are taller not wider than stock 265/60 R18. 265 is the width size. /60 is the ratio of height compared to width (60%). Just so you know, the more rubber between the rim and the road, the better the ride will be. I always try to get the tallest tire I can because of that.
