You have very hardy and reliable SUVs for traveling in Russia in our difficult climatic conditions We have two jeep grand cherokee wk2 first overland 2013 of release engine 3.6 mileage at the moment 500,000 miles! Only scheduled maintenance from major breakdowns of the automatic transmission and that's it. I would like to note a very hardy chassis and generally high off-road durability!

Wow! I had no idea a GC was capable of defeating such extreme moguls and other difficult off-road trails. This GC beats other off road vehicles on videos showing the 4Runner and Land Cruiser. Thanks for sharing your videos. Just wish Jeeps were more reliable and easier for mechanics to work on like Toyotas. Well...guess everything in life has trade-off, doesn't it?

Ya I agree with you.. mine is 2015 and don't flex 😅 I just ordered a set of 5100 bilistons shocks .. and hopefully I can see a little bit of flex lol ... but I gotta tell you ,, getting the car on 3 or 2 wheels are kinda fun too 😁

A little bit of wheel spacer would give you a little better flex because it will lower the wheel rate due to the change in motion ratio. As long as you don't rub and you don't get any vibrations from the spacer it's a good thing.

Seriously looking at the GC as the ideal mix of off-road and on road capability. This video clinched it for me- if only they would include a selectable rear locker like they have in the Cherokee! Looking forward to see what the Trailhawk looks like in the new GC and if they release an more off-road version of the Wagoneer as well.

The Grand Cherokee Trailhawk has a rear locker. I've used it many times. Works amazing. My dad has footage of me going up obstacles and my front tire won't even do a full turn before dying and all power going to the other wheel

It's true that the GC doesn't have a rear locker, however, the electronic limited slip works exactly as one since it'll fully lock the rear axle. That means you're actually never going to be needing a selectable one since the software will have done it for you even before you need it - just make sure you're in Rock or Mud/Sand mode. What it *does* need is an ELSD in the front too (or locker) - here the traction control just isn't good enough. And, oh boy, does it need better articulation - but hey, the lack thereof makes for some interesting driving at times...

The locker was my only hesitation to get a gc. I ended up with a 17 overland so I can tow a smaller camper. I really wanted a trailhawk cherokee because they have rear locker, but end up with a gc overland because I found one for a good price and has a way higher tow rating.

Your not far from Wharton state forest and the southern pine Barrens in cape may County. Lots of good trails and deep holes, the high line trails get nasty up in Cumberland County also. There are some decent trails in Estelle manor . ✌🦆

With some more armor, lift/tires, and a winch I could see this tackling some decent trails. Just wouldn't want to pay for fixing what you break oh these and trail repairs would be a challenge. Overlanding in a trailhawk would be interesting though.

Just ordered 5100 bilistons for my grand cherokee .. that should give me about 1.75 inch lift .. and got the 17 inch wheels ... I just need to pick the right tyres and I'm all sat 😁

They are very good. The 4x4 traction control system is very fast at figuring things out. Stock tires are great for sand as they won't dig down as fast as a more aggressive tire will.

This generation of grand cherokee wk2 on a solid frame, the new wl is no longer available, the dealer in Australia sent me with regards to the welded frame in wk2: Monocoque Body with Built-in Ladder Frame They say that superior off-road handling capability could only come at the expense of on-road smoothness. From someone who managed a tire shop for seven years. Those Goodyear's received a lot of complaints about poor performance. I strongly feel that If they were in something of a better quality, like BFgoodrich KO2. We wouldn't be seeing as much tire spinning that we are.

BFgoodrich are definetly better tyres off road .. but I reckon they would be too noisy on the road .. I'm about to buy ones but can't see myself buying BFgoodrich coz I do plenty of highway driving ..

With Quadradrive II yes and lift but not recommended without some underbody protection, certainly not the rock part (crawlers ridge)

You don’t need QDII to do this. Any 4wd WK2 can handle this type of off roading with ease. The truck is to not have 17 spotters like this guy has

Can't beat the Wrangler for off-road capability. Unfortunately I am to tall, the roll bar is right behind my head. Would not be good in an accident, so I'm looking into one of these. They drive nice on the road. Did a test drive this morning

2011 To 2021 has a stupid front open diff. Wk 2010 has a front LSD. If there is a way to add E-locker to the front Diff, then the whole WK2 off-road experience will be changed totally. Thank you anyway.

In such situation will help to turn on “off-road cruise control”,which activates in 4Low mode only. In that mode your front axle will have high-active anti-slip braking so it will help you to get out slowly in such situation)

@@volodymyrprosov6134 The issue using that type of system in these scenario (0:34) is how uneven the ground is, you need to stop and switching weight, where as that system will just maintain a constant speed. Its a reactive system, but definitely has its place. I use mine on my RRS in certain slick situations and it works wonders.

@@DrivenHard it doesn’t send in one wheel, it does only between front and rear axle from 100-0% to 0-100% or&and between left front and rear tires and right front and rear tires. So from side to side, from 2 wheels to another 2 wheels,but never to only single wheel. Except quadra drive 2,because of his rear electronic limited slip differential,so it has 2 clutches and may disconnect any rear single axle to send up to 100% of power to another rear axle. In case of front differential and front cv axle, it always weaker than rear differential,and to save and front differential and front left and right cv axles, it works just as open differential, so i mean if the system or computer will send 100% power to only front differential, and one wheel will be in air or unloaded, the car won’t move because front free differential will send the power to the unloaded wheel or wheel in the air, and in front axle and in rear axle quadra drive 2 doesn’t use active anti slip brake control or traction control,because quadra drive 2 has limited rear slip differential and it is enough to pull up and active braking traction control may destroy it,so the only way to get it is 4low mode and turn on off road cruise control button . Quadra trak 2 yes it has active anti-slip brake control assist and it has really high sensitivity even in front axle ,because the system doesn’t have rear limited slip differential.

It's too bad Jeeps and Fiat/Chrysler vehicles in general are so unreliable. They have a lot great ideas and functionality, but too many problems and do not last without spending a fortune in repairs.

If anything this video shows how poor this vehicle, and any vehicle with independent front suspension, can be on off camper trails and trails that require felx and articulation. But I guess with ultra proper wheel placement you can swing it by, but a solid axle vehicle with the ability to disconnect the sway bar is more manageable!

Vehicles without any traction control and open differentials seem to really struggle compared to the newer vehicles with traction control such as ATRAC from Toyota. If the driver is familiar with their vehicle they can compete with full locker vehicles in all but the most extreme situations.

The Down-travel is so miserable, so disappointing. So easily the wheels come off the ground. Terrible offroad car.

Although the Jeep Grand Cherokee doesn't have great articulation its 4wd system is very aggressive allowing it to keep moving even with a wheel off the ground.

No locking diffs... Not a real 4x4. This is an all wheel drive vehicle. If it were a real 4x4, everything would have been much easier.

The rear wheels can lock sending power 50/50 due to the electric LSD the front wheels have a very good torq vectoring system. This jeep is extremely good off road. Quadra drive is very capable trust me.

@@ecentballer1 It's only sending power to 2 wheels at a time. 1 front, 1 rear. Real 4X4 would send it to all all 4 at the same time. There's a KZbin channel that tests awd and 4x4 vehicles by putting all the different combinations of wheels on rollers to test the vehicles drive system. This Cherokee is an awd vehicle.

@@Pendragon501 brother the E lsd system can LOCK the rear wheels so both in the rear spin at the same time. It's electronically pushes the clutch pack together which LOCKS THE REAR WHEELS. you are correct about the front wheels. Only one will spin at a time left or right. But you will have a combination or three wheels spinning total at a time. Two in the rear and one up front. But as I stated the tq vectorING system for the front diff is very good system
