Mine is doing the same thing. that’s why I found this channel! It is a 2012 Jeep Patriot. But mine doesn’t channel stations at all, it’ll flip through them but won’t pick up any voices or static.

2014 Grandcaravan!! Exact same radio, exact same problem!!! Chrysler knows what's going on. They should replace all these defective Radios!!!

The Am/FM chip has come lose on the motherboard, just need to re-solder the connection back in place. Easy job, will need a hot air solder gun. Also plenty of videos on KZbin that walk you thru the process.

Yeah you have to take apart the radio then almost easier to just get new stock radio or even upgrade it🤷🏼

I have the same problem for jeep compass as you say there are several tutorials and it is indeed the CHIP you have to heat it with great care. Try to change the antenna, the radio fuse 15a - 20a. the problem persisted thanks to youtube I saw the CHIP AM/FM warm up and it works...

The goofy USB connection in the glovebox is patched in with the radio. It doesn't take much to mess it up.

YOU ARE NOT CRAZY. I just went up to the auto parts store thinking it's the antenna. As I was turning the corner, radio volume came on. Stayed on until I parked the car in 2 minutes. I shut the car off. Radio volume came back on turning the car back on. Almost decided to go back home and skip the antenna but circled the lot and back to my parking space. Turned the car off and back on again. Radio volume was gone. Got a new antenna. Adapters didn't fit. Had to go back to return the antenna but still no volume. Asked auto parts to verify if the antenna would work but couldn't determine it was a match with my vehicle. Found out myself. Nothing but headaches this Christmas. Jeep Compass 2012.

There is a fix, the am/fm chip needs to be resoldered inside the radio. Google is your friend

we have a 2015 that is doing basically you have to hold the aux cord in for that to work radio fm or am will not work execpt once in a blue moon if you eject a cd it will switch the radio and work for a bit

I followed instructions and used a heat gun and BLAM I can’t believe it worked!!! First time it didn’t work because I needed to heat it better but this works yeeeeehaw

Ok... So I have the same prob with my 2014 wrangler with these crappy ass radios. If you beat on it, it will work again for a little bit. So... i took the damn thing out of the dash to figure out what was the problem figuring it was the antenna... Nope. So the aux cable worked until IDK TODAY. Now it's cutting out. The amp isnt working as it should. Anyways... Aftermarket radio is my only option.

The problem that I have with my radio is that the FM/AM does not have a signal. Then 2 weeks ago I had the radio on SAT. Now the radio plays for not even a second cuts out and then cuts in. Does the same thing on and on. I have the same model of Jeep Compass as you do.

Wow wow or should bye bye Jeep Wrangler For some reason Dodge, jeep started going down hill slowly we bought ram3500 &jeep wrangler both 2011. 40 days left in the warranty that we paid extra for Jeep’s motor seized and then now alternator gone replace the alternator than the battery was totally drained replaced the battery to find out computer gone, trying to find a computer in British Columbia and Alberta then Canada no luck dodge dealership called and said yeah we can get one for you but it’s gonna take minimum six to Eight weeks maybe longer and price was fourteen hundred plus for new and used six to seven hundred.oh lord, maple ridge Chrysler the one says biggest dealership in bc.there was five of us friends was searching for one and luckily we got one up north used one for 250.00 dollars thank goodness now the am, fm & CD player does not work for some reason satellite channel work what you guys think about this. Yeah maple ridge dealership charge me $ 45.00 dollars for the code what a shame. Rip ripped dodge , jeep never again ever oh also none of the chargers slots work anymore.but we are still trying to fixed everything and get rid of the so called jeep.

Yeah, my jeep patriot is a 2014 but my radio AM/FM doesn’t even work. The only thing a Works is my SiriusXM but it plays for like five seconds and cut out for five seconds. Please cuts out. Please cut out I can’t listen to a full song it’s just cutting in and out if anybody has any answers on how to fix that besides taking the whole thing apart and heating up the inside to fix it please let me know because I need radio. I need music in my life and this vehicle is driving me crazy. I went from a 22 pathfinder to a 14 patriot with shitty ass radio… And my dad no back up camera which sucks lol
