I was at Valvoline express oil change a few days ago. They pulled my cabin filter and showed me how dirty it was. They said the Dealer charges $79 but their price is $49. I said.. uhh, thanks but no. Got it on ebay for $8.00. 2014 sorento.

The air filter I got that it said was for a 2012 Sorento’s arrow was pointing the other way so that’s how I put it in Hope it will work alright. Also no wire in glovebox. Must’ve been disconnected by previous owner or a mechanic.

My guess is that you're glad you had a look. It will work better than a dirty filter regardless of the direction of the arrow but on the 2012 the airflow is from the top to the floor of the car so the arrow should be pointing down. Funny the BM air filter is harder to do, and the pollen filter is easier, than the KIA, well not difficult, but the vehicle is designed around these parts, changed my BM air filter it was dirty 10.000 miles of it, well we have had long periods of dry weather, and the air in London is disgusting.

+bmwnasher After using only paper filters for the longest time I decided to try an activated carbon filter to see what the difference was and I was surprised at the difference. The activated carbon filter certainly stops nasty outside smells (exaust etc) from entering the cabin. I will never go back to the plain paper cabin filters now. Thanks again for watching.

Richard Lloyd The BM carbon filter is £30, so i buy oem ones, the BM airflow has three positions, full outside air, recirculate, and auto recirculate if it detects smells, but i found no difference perhaps ive never noticed it.
