2014 Mazda 3 Coolant Drain and Fill

my old 95 civic has a bleeder screw which makes it easy.

Is there old coolant still left in the engine block, and if so is there a way to drain it? I'm doing a complete flush, including refill and flush with clean distilled water.

@@KingZoneOne yes. There is still coolant in the block. This procedure is a simple drain and fill for the radiator. I believe a machine is needed to flush the block

I apologize for the late response. I clean the coolant tank with water. I fill it with a water and shook it until all the dirty was removed

Did you fill it directly to radiator or in the antifreeze receiver? And what happen if it is full above of full Mark?

I put the fluid directly in to the radiator using a coolant funnel. The funnel will help bleed the air from the system

The radiator should always be full to the top. Never take the cap off when the engine. The radiator will take fluid from the radiator when the extra fluid is needed. If the radiator has low has fluid there might be a leak somewhere and the car will need to be diagnosed.

When did you fill the reservoir back up with coolant? Thought you fill radiator and reservoir and bleed air from reservoir.

@@teslarocks7345 after you fill the radiator and bleed the air from the system you fill the reservoir. The cooling system does not need the reservoir while you are bleeding the air. When the engine cools down it will take coolant from the reservoir and you will have to add a little more coolant to the reservoir
