I have a 2014 C300 sport. This car has been a dream for me. It handles very sharp, rides comfortably, turns heads even 8 years old, and the transmission in sport mode loves to hold rpms. 0 to 60 is about 6, though it seems like a 5.9 when I squint, lol. And on the highway, it pulls at any speed. I have yet to top it out, but would be surprised if it is under 150.. and that's with 248hp. I have had mustangs, BMW 328is, and WRXs test me from 65mph rolling and unless they are aftermarket, we are neck and neck. The w204 c300 is very reliable, like 4.5/5 Edmunds reliable. The 3.5L V6 is the same as the C350, but not as squeezed for its HP, so literally its overbuilt in strength imo. Also, for $100, I easily replaced the grille with the new diamond grille and it looks sharp and updated. I highly recommend this car. 👌

The top speed is 134, though it's limited. It sits at 3700 rpms at that speed. Also I've raced GTI's, Chargers (I mean v6 ones lol), etc. and it's a very fun car to drive. I have an exhaust leak tho which makes the engine sound messed up, and there are other problems, like my leaky transaxle. in order to replace that seal, you have to drop the whole engine. It's a $20 part but a $4000 job because it supposedly takes 30 hours. TLDR: I absolutely love my C300 but it has more issues than what I have listed above.

Was going to say, the highway / autobahn pull on these is surprisingly good for a 3800lb sedan with less than 250hp (great aerodynamics and gearing goes a long way). 97 mph quarter mile trap speed and 0-130mph in 30 sec flat per CarandDriver published test data confirms these can hang with a surprising amount of sporty cars at higher speeds.

What's been your average annual maintenance costs/issues? I have a 2016 VW GLI right now that's been having some issues unique to my specific car. From the research I've done I don't think it'd be much more than what I already pay.

Nigerians love the W204 chassis. The luxury sports car rivalry here is between the Lexus IS and the W204 C class. And most will still go for the W204, although the IS is better for interior quality and reliability. IMO, I'd pick the W203 over this. It looks like there's much less plastic in the W203.

Picked up a 2013 last winter , all stock , throwing corners feels better then my 2019 wrx with sway bars although not fast enough, I use it as a point a to b car and it’s been great , w204 is the best looking c class imo, just kinda regret I did not get a c63 instead, but overall happy with this thing. These w204 runs around $15k in my city with decent mileage, why wouldn’t I get a Benz when a used Honda and Toyota cost the same ?

I have a C350 its an amazing car, its the 306hp you should really drive one with the stock suspension. Its fast! 0-62mph in 6s but in reality it beats cars with 0-100 in 5s in highway speeds. the 7g tronic plus is great, and the handling is surprising for being a estate (s204).
@jeff3462 жыл бұрын
FYI. Late model c300 has the same engine as c350 , with a de-tuned ecu, some tuner charge $1000 to bump it up a little more then a c350

The W204 generation will go down as the last great age for MB from a design and engineering perspective. I just don't see this level of refinement in the current generation and post-generation coming from MB. I mean, I still can't get over the interior design with the IPad at the center console and that's just one of many gripes I have lol

Best-looking generation of C-class by far in my opinion (and design is aging remarkably well for a mass-produced sedan that first went into production 15 years ago). Quality and reliability of these were nearly back on par with the 80s / early 90s Benzes, too (at least the post 2011 facelift versions). It is kind of a shame that an increasing number of these I see lately look pretty bastardized (i.e. the dropped to the ground suspension and horrific rear end of the example in this video). Tends to happen to a lot of MBs & BMWs once theyre on their third or fourth owner and can be obtained for less than $15K.

I’m thinking about getting this model of a Mercedes because my current car has been causing me trouble. How’s your overall experience with this Mercedes have you had to get anything replaced of fixed since you had it?
@bwofficial17762 жыл бұрын
I never understood the point of driving around with purposefully busted suspension. Did the prior owner think he knew better than Mercedes' suspension engineers who spent millions of dollars so their car could ride comfortably, handle well, drive over speedbumps, and not hit the inside of the fenders? It just makes the car look broken. It looks like an old beater Honda the owner can't afford to fix. The back end looks weird and ducktailed without the badges. The headlights look like cheap Chineseium Ebay specials. Is the white marble trim stock or is it vinyl? I've never heard of (fake, obviously) marble as a trim option. It looks interesting. Never buy a German car without a warranty. You might get a $100k car for $10k, but it'll still have the bills of a $100k car.

@OrlandoMagicFan10112 жыл бұрын
@@TheGjkddk actually that spoiler is hideous. And yes, the suspension he has is better performance wise than stock. I have the same car, and the same bc racing Coilovers on my c300 and it handles better and grips the road as good as any car. Definitely hinders the comfort but I love to feel the road as I drive so I love the harsher and stiff ride. It’s not for everyone tho.

C300 owner here (2011 RWD auto). Picked the car up a couple years ago and it's been my daily since getting a miata ~6wks ago (gas in CA 🙃). This car has been fairly bulletproof in the +25k miles of ownership. I'm still under 100k, but it's been nothing but easy to own. I can say now that the comment on the coils, wheels, and exhaust is accurate. I run a staggered 18 & 19 on silvers neomax coilovers and it's only slightly lower than stock. These cars already sit reasonably low on the sport suspension, so ~1/2in drop is enough. I've also done some exhaust work and these things sound mean for a stock car. Great review, as always. I'd love to hear your thoughts on an earlier RWD model.
