question about this machine, can you use keys that were lost (i worked in a dealership and we had a drawer full of keys that were lost from old vehichles) and reprogram those keys for vehicles? or are the fobs kind of locked to the vehicle they originally came with? and if they are locked, is there any way to 'reset' an existing key to program it to a new vehicle?

No most keys are not re-usable. Some keys are supported for renew

Good stuff. I added 2 key with the same autel and but have a previous working key theat i generated the pass word for. Both start the car but only when i insert it into the ignition. But the keyless go don't work on the 2 new keys only works on the original key i copied . How do can i get the 2 new keyfob to work?

Hey joe. Great stuff as always brother. I got a newbie question. Do you always try on a ALK situation to do it ON VEHICLE? How you can spot when it will be needed to go ON BENCH? (The question is mostly for mercedes). Thanks bud great work also.

Newer benz are easier by obd so yes u should always attempt obd first on 04+ If it fails you bench it

Great video. I got 2 questions 1. You didn't need to choose anything related to smart key type when writing When i add a key and the ori key is smart it asks if it's smart and i have to say yes, and i do the process without battery on the vvdi smart key ? 2. Can these keys be renewed with Autel, as they are be keys but smart ?

Yes the keys can be renewed. VVDI instructions say to use normal key type v51 for key writing

The key comes ready at 433mhz. If you want 315mhz, remove the resistor labeled FRE
