is it me, or does the triples match not do anything but eat up the lane more? unless a team takes both the single and double.

I still believe Chris Barnes is the Best All Around Bowler on the PBA Tour right now. I know people would say Jason Belmonte, but he needs two hands when Chris Barnes, Tommy Jones, Walter Ray Williams, and others are still winning titles using ONE HAND. I just don't agree with the two-handed style. Just my personal opinion.

also 2 handed bowling is just a two handed APPROACH. his left hand comes off the ball before the ball comes out of his right hand. He's still technically a one handed bowler who's thumbless just like Tom Smallwood and Tom Daugherty. so if you're gunna criticize 2 handed bowling, you gotta criticize all thumbless bowlers

That's like saying, "I think x is better than Mark Roth, because he needs power, and x still gets it done without power!" Actually, I'm extremely certain non-pro bowlers did say that about Roth back in his day. Bowling is about rolling a ball 60 feet into some pins it knocks over. However you get it rolling doesn't matter. If one way of getting it rolling is generally better than others, you should use it. That's true of 1 handed and 2 handed bowling, it's called, "form," and every great bowler has it.

I kinda feel like using the Google glass gives Belmo an advantage. Isn't the blue oil only sensitive to camera lenses and the human eye can't see it? because Belmo has a lens right in front of him. I mean seeing the blue isn't a HUGE deal because he still has to execute, but with such a good bowler, every detail of that oil makes a big difference and that something he sees over the others bowling. I don't think it's necessarily unfair but I feel like it kinda gives him a small leap over the other competitors

In my opinion, USBC and the PBA have lost total control of the game. The manufacturers and the physicists and scientists have taken over the game today. Seems everybody is getting 300 games now with hardly any kind of effort. Even a person off the street is getting a 300 game. Its happening way too often. If you not believe me count how many 300 games were ever televised since 1961 to say 1995 when reactive resin balls came into the picture. They only had 8 all those years!!!!! Bam, now they have 26 of them since 1995 to present time. This totals 18 in the last 20 years. If you take away that reactive Resin balls over half of the PBA players would QUIT. Also there are only 4 players in the PBA that shoot like Belmo. With this in mind these 4 players have a huge advantage over single hand players. The only PBA player that bitches and complains the most is Pete Weber. He really has a horrible attitude problem, yet he comes from his father Dick Weber. Since reactive resin is in the picture, then damn bring back the Shore-D balls and maybe we can be on a even match with Belmo and company. Only 2 of the best balls that were ever made. The ceramic balls (solid ceramic cores) and the Shore-D balls. Again this is my opinion as others will think differently.

Steveyboy52Productions As of Belmo doing 2 handed many do not realize he has a huge advantage even against the best of other pro bowlers who use a standard fitted ball. Here is some stats, his ball speed is 21.5 mph average every time consistently, his revolutions is almost 700 consistently and that is doing it 2 handed. There are only 4 pro bowlers that throw it 2 handed. Belmo won 4 masters in a row!!!!! Now take away that reactive resin ball, Belmo will never be able to throw the ball at the current extreme angles as they all will end up in the gutter. IF you get a chance and its on You Tube, take a look at Mark Roth, in the older days using Urethane. He was the cranker in those days and under that viper oil set up even he had a hard time and had to play it very tight on every shot. Now if Mark Roth was say 25 years younger today, and use that resin reactive, he will blow Belmo right out of the house. Same for Marshal Holman. Pete Weber is struggling with reactive resin and its forced him to change his game completely. Ameleto is another one that quit that could not adapt. The ones I've named and bless Earl Anthony, would be another that will have trouble likewise are precision bowlers. Bohn III is one of the few lefties still around that is a precision bowler, and still has trouble with those balls. Take a look at Norm Duke, he is a very tight precision bowler, and has a layout that practically almost kills off that resin coverstock. He does not like it himself. He avoids it if at all possible. He prefers the spin-delay and then the break late. Mallott, is one of the few pros using the front dots for the line to the pocket. He looks down when he releases the ball, yet hits the targets. As for me, I am looking at the pins when I throw my ball. I line up with the arrows and the pins as my target line before attempting my shot. I bowl like Tony Reyes (who is now deceased) that got killed in a auto accident. If you look on You Tube, find Tony Reyes and it gives you a very good idea on my bowling style. However I use all fingers which is totally different than most bowlers. Yes I have fingertip, but use the index, middle, ring and pink finger in the ball. Why, because I have full control on my release. Every finger absorbs the stress at release. On a three hole set up you don't have full control, and its easy to deviate your release on almost every shot. Its not consistent. Belmo uses 2 and its always consistent but under PBA rules he has to also have a balance hole drilled because of the offset. Go figure. I do not use any aids at all like for wrists etc. I use a special bowling glove for my throwing hand. It prevents skin problems. I know this is a bit long but I also want to tell you something else. If one takes away the PBA rule on the weights, I can take a Urethane, and go full side weight with some fingerweight, and have my layout away from the pin, to make it snap at the backend, my urethane ball will react just like the resin reactive balls. It will be illegal but that is the point I am talking about as a whole. So the USBC made that rule to keep it even for everybody OK. Now they have this reactive and it defeats the PBA and USBC rule. So they make it one inch, yet that reactive still defeats that rule likewise. This is why I said they lost control of the game itself and the manufacturers now control the game. Peace.

Steveyboy52Productions Hey Steve. Since the PBA and the USBC lost control of the game letting the Manufacturers take over. I often ask why not let them bring back the Shore D Balls with a hardness of 60. It will do the very same thing as the reactive balls do but not absorb all the oil off the lanes. Those balls were the best that were ever made and they passed that rule making it illegal before Mark Roth ever had a chance to use it in a tournament. Him and Holman would have won every PBA tournament they held. It would be a godsend for Pete Weber, and even Earl Anthony. That ball skidded down the viper oil, (and remember we had wood boards in those days) and wow at the back end it rolled slightly and then had its snap and killed those pins. Just like the reactives do today. It was a very soft thump when released, but the power behind it was awesome. There is one on sale right now for 400 dollars on E-bay NIB (never drilled). One can use it on open play but not for league or tournament play. I also forgot to tell you I use ceramic core balls (solid type) Why, because it has a distinct sound when hitting the pins and the ball does not absorb the impact like the current reactives do. The pins are plastic coated by the way in case you not know. Now take ceramic core balls and hit plastic and guess what happens. The pins explode and fly around all over the back end section. I call that good lumber, heheheheheheee. In 1996 they again made Cuda Ceramic balls and coated it with the weaker reactive resin. I got those and really it blew me away. I still have my Cuda/C from the 70's and its a damn good ball. Its not the pearl one, but dull the original one. I've go the Pearl one, and the Beast /C dull and sanded. I also have the Plastic. I carry 8 balls for my arsenal so to speak. Have two Urethanes for mid to dry, and one Urethane dull with weak reactive resin to go between medium to light heavy oil. My main go to ball is the Cuda's and if need based on what the lanes give me the Beast/C. I hardly ever and never use the plastic for spares. Where a lot of these pros today got that idea, its all bullshit. I change to a medium urethane for my spares. This Idea of 16 pound balls is full of crap. Mallott who weighs well over 215 pounds throws 14 and 15 pound balls!!!!! Belmo uses 14 and 15 also. under the weight formula, he is supposed to be throwing 16 pound balls. But due to his knees, he dropped down 1 pound to 15 pounds. A lot of pros use 13 pounds as well. Why, because they want to control the ball and aim its target better. With a heavy ball you lose the control and it gets heavy hurting your fingers after throwing 25 games to get to the step ladder finals. Here is my two pro tips to you. Weigh yourself and multiply by 9.5%. Say you weigh 140 pounds Ok Now do the math and that answer is 13.3. So this means you should not go over 13 pounds for bowling balls. If you go tournaments I suggest you have 12 pound balls for your arsenal. When you reach 50-60 years old drop down to 12 or 11 pounds to maintain your bowling. For women it should be 10% of their total weight. 120 pound female should use no more than 11 pound balls. Better if they went to 10 pounds for more control. The weight of the ball has nothing to do with the pins in getting your strikes. Its the entry precision to the pocket that counts which is 62 degrees entry point. Last of all watch the ball as it leaves the deck. If you see it go to the right after a couple of throws then its not the right ball for the lane. Its weak. You need to do two things. Either get a stronger ball or change a board or two on your angle. If the ball leaves on the left side its way too strong. You need to adjust as I said above. This is for right handers, go the opposite if your left handed. A good ball that agrees with the particular lane must drop at the middle of the deck on a constant basis. At the mid point of the game watch that ball, because now the oil starts to dry out and changes your track. When it starts to dry out, it inches closer to the head pin. Duh, here comes the splits, or it leaves the 7 or 10 pin standing. That is your tips of the day. Peace.
