well think of it this way, yes it is kinda like ammongus but that does not have nuzzle (i know it can put things to sleep) nor does it have hyper fang (is that right? the one that does half hp) he didn't need to bring it but he knew that because it was such a surprise and it actually works that he could win with it! the points is figure out how to make the polemon you want to use work!

@ianluk8855 Жыл бұрын
Well, this is very late, but here's the thing: Taking this as a "use what you like, not necessarily the meta" isn't 100% the right lesson to take from this. Se Jun used Pachirisu for a few very specific reasons, not because he was particularly attached to it. He started liking it once he was getting results with it. Se Jun wanted a redirector to complement his powerful offensive Pokemon well, but he didn't want to use Amoonguss because Amoonguss is weak to Talonflame, who was very common. Not only is Pachirisu resistant to Brave Bird from Talonflame, it's immune to and actually heals from any electric attacks directed at Gyarados because of Volt Absorb. It has Super Fang, which deals good damage to targets regardless of its poor attack stat, and it can spread status with Nuzzle because it's technically a damaging move, avoiding blocking from Taunt. In short, he used Pachirisu because it was a redirector that fit well with his team that also matched up well against the meta. So you should absolutely follow the meta, and if there's a Pokemon that you like that happens to match up well against the meta, and complements the rest of your team well, then go ahead.

Back here after 2022 worlds, and some things we learnt from this: -Megas aren’t all-powerful -Ttar does actually have loads of weaknesses - Garchomp coupled with anything resisting Earthquake is a BEAST. - I can see why Talonflame was so scary - In every team, there’s an outsider that often pulls its weight( Pachirisu)

Props to Se Jun! He won using his own customized team, instead of using what everyone else was using.

The duo of pachirisu and garchomp reminds me of the anime, with the rivalry between gabite and pachirisu lol

"Strong Pokémon, weak Pokémon; that is only the perception of selfish people. Truly skilled trainers should try to win with their favorites" Man's a living legend

@@nikunjkhangwal what do you mean?
@nikunjkhangwal2 жыл бұрын
@@averysketchygamer3241 Pachirisu wasn't just his favourite but it was actually fitting for the role because it's bulky and got support moves like follow me. Vgc 2014 had limitations and only regional Pokemons were allowed. Wolfey has made a detailed video about it, you should watch it. Besides that quote from Karen was obviously just to motivate kid's, you're never beating Rayquaza with a freakin Eevee.

@@nikunjkhangwal it actually can depending on how you build your team. Watching Pokémon showdown reveals how crazy some team combos can get
@nikunjkhangwal2 жыл бұрын
@@averysketchygamer3241 I've been playing showdown for a long time and very few pokémon are exception of this. Like Belly Drum Linoone and all. Even they need heavy support from team and have multiple counters. Still doesn't change the fact that many Pokemon are weak, that's the truth.
