I have a 2011 Cayenne S and absolutely love it. Mine is the 4.8 NA V8 and has almost every available option. A $93k sticker on a $62k base (S) car. With PASM, Air suspension, and the SportEdition 21’s on the car handles every bit as good as a nice sports sedan. The tuning and calibration of the Cayenne is just unmatched. I have had the vehicle to an indicated 159 multiple times with no issues (and often cargo). Plus having all the little luxury goodies like vented seats and extended leather really add to the experience. They’re a good deal used and generally more reliable than its competitors. Cayennes are often driven well over 250k miles with no serious issues. Wearables obviously occur (and they’re often VAG shared parts) but for the most part the fundamentals are super stout. They’re also surprisingly capable off road. Have had mine in dirt, mud, gravel, and even waded some flooded roads (2ft or so) and it did really well! The air suspension raises it so high and the 4WD system works really well with all season tires. Reminds me of a Subaru type vehicle off-road. Rally style. But what’s even more satisfying is driving down a nice backroad after mudding and putting the car from off road to sport mode. Completely changes the vehicle, goes from a rally truck to a Panamera. The range from sport to off-road is like 3 inches or so. It’s a significant difference. Plus the body roll goes from a softly sprung vehicle to rock solid over bumps. It’s really the perfect one car for everything, and at sub $20k they’re definitely under appreciated.

How’s the reliability been?
@BeesonsCars3 жыл бұрын
@@nabeelmustafa8651 pretty good. The only issues I’ve had in my year of ownership are the Air compressor fuse (the compressor froze solid in 10°F weather and blew the fuse) and I currently receive a MAF/MAP sensor code due to my K&N oiled intakes

After 5-7 year's you have to buy a new battery. And, they have plastic cooling pipes that will burst, and the repair on that will be $1,500. A new battery is $5,000

I’m looking at this exact year and model, I’m just a little worried about the reliability of the hybrid version. Any thoughts or insights?
@uwriteme3 жыл бұрын
I know person who runs a garage dealing with all hybrid vehicles. He said that if you want the best and the most reliable hybrid technology, go for for Lexus, forget about Cayenne. At the same time I know a person who owns a 2011 Cayenne hybrid and it still had no major issue whatever. So go figure. I own 2009 Lexus RX400h and it is very reliable. However I would definitely want to tune the suspension as it is quite bulky.

Great review Kevin! I watched your review yesterday of the 15 Lexus GS Fsport. I’m looking for another car within the next 6 months to a year. I’m really interested in the 2013-2015 Lexus RX450h. Can you review that car if you can come across it or the non hybrid version of it?
@MeynMotorGroup4 жыл бұрын
Thanks so much my friend! Closest I've gotten was reviewing a 2017 RX 350. I also reviewed a 2020 RX 350 and will try to review a 2020 RX 450h soon if you are interested
@watcharatphairatphiboon29492 жыл бұрын
I think the 958.1 is more reliable than the 958.2 even though the 958.2 performs better with more range and the 958.1 is really just a mild hybrid. The cost for the 958.1 battery is $2500 and generally lasts 100k miles. But the 958.2 looks a lot better in the rear. The best compromise might be to get a 958.1 and do a bodykit facelift to the 9y0 version with 19inch lightweight wheels with factory CCB so they fill in better and perform a bit better. You can tune it with aftermarket csf heat exchangers and do a dual pulley upgrade and get like 0-60 in 5 flat. A larger throttle body like the APR ultra charger will add even more and tune it on E85; should be a fun car for one of the cheapest Porsches you can get.

@@MeynMotorGroup thanks brother, is the hybrid on this worth it in terms of fuel economy ?
@smileoftenatseaАй бұрын
@@VictorR12I can tell you from experience, in terms of performance the hybrid S is pretty similar to v8 S, but with about 15% better fuel economy in combined cycle. Neither sound particularly amazing. They are quite similar in terms of running costs. In retrospect I would either go for GTS or Turbo, and skip the S models altogether. If fuel economy was key, then I would just go for the diesel, it provides similar torque as the S models, same driving dynamics but with far better fuel economy. Hope this helps

Ha they don't really have anything like that for now. The fancy stuff they had currently is the old Porsche turbos which I can't drive because some guy just has them there for display and I have no interest in driving an old 911 anyways. They did have some exotic stuff in the past like Audi R8 GT3 you mentioned and Aston Martin

@MeynMotorGroup4 жыл бұрын
Glad you drove a 2020 and got to experience what I was talking about! How did you like the refinement and comfort?
@Kevin271824 жыл бұрын
@@MeynMotorGroup the refinement of the car I feel like it's just above average. It a very nice car and you really have to option it out to make it a nice car or else they have a lot of rubber plastic material everywhere but you can swap it out for leather. The one I drove was an s model fully optioned out. The car is so smooth and comfortable. The air suspension on it was next level. It was able to take a bunch of road imperfections and let you know you went over something but not upset the posture at all. They really focus on handling when developing these cars. Build quality was good the driver door window switches were a bit creaky tho

@MeynMotorGroup3 жыл бұрын
If it's got a warranty then you should be fine but if you are scared of it just get a regular Cayenne. I don't really care for the hybrid in the first place, a base model Cayenne with a warranty will suffice.
