Jim, I watched this video several times before starting installations of the Denali SoundBomb and Clearwater Ericas this weekend. The video was a great confidence-builder -- I was walking in the house after each step to review what was next. This specific video (and your videos generally) are a huge help to those of us who want to learn more about our bikes and do our own professional-looking (and -working) installations.

I placed some small pieces of velcro on my 2016 GSA frame and the felt so it stayed in place better, worked like a charm. The center fuel pump connector came off flawlessly, the other separated between the cap and the insert portion, there is a hinge at that location on both plugs. I would make sure I grab close to the tank to remove the connectors next time. I also mistakenly thought advice was given to remove the keyless tank door lock mechanism and when I saw the wire I went back, watched the video and realized I had jumped to the wrong contusion. Just the two breather tubes from the tank, the electrical comes off at its own junction plug. Many thanks to JVB Productions for this video, it gave me the confidence to add some auxiliary drive lights, louder horn and second tail light. Wouldn't have, couldn't have, done it without your excellent tutorial. Well done!!!

Great and clear video, thanks!! This has certainly got me 90% of the way to replacing the front shock absorber, but I also need to remove the air box to get at the mounting bolt at the top of the shock. I found the two screws at the back bottom of the air box, but the clamps that attach the air box to the cylinder intake pipe have me defeated - do you show how to remove the air box in another video, or even just how to remove (and re use) the clamps on the cylinder intake pipes?

I did not remove the air box, but I am guessing they are the same as the ones on the earlier bikes. They use a special tool to tension and clamp them, and to remove them. This video should help: kzbin.info/www/bejne/ZqqZoqR7j7aUY5o

Thanks Jim, much appreciated. I actually found that video late last night on a journey that started with some web forum posts about the air box removal, which lead me to the "special tool" you need, which lead me to the different types of clamps, which then lead me to that video. Unfortunately it will take too long to get a set of those clamp pliers in my hand so I'll see what I can do with some long nose pliers. I did have a bash on Sunday but couldn't see the clamp very well and tried to pinch against the wrong edges, and backed off concerned I might damage something.

I agree with others that have posted on the quality of this video. Chris Harris channel focuses on another type of BMW series (K series). Perhaps you would consider doing a line of videos for the R series (?) (1200GSA being greedy ?) Thank you for the consideration.

Thanks, it is possible, the frames are the same, but it would be costly to do because of all the associated plastic parts.

Hi Jim, I’ve got alot of the normal common screws. And 3 big shank ones. Not sure where they go. I thought they were all the same until I saw them them lying next to eachther on the table. Any ideas?

Very nice video, I need to fit a headlight protector and it has a clamp that it goes under the headlight rubber holder. Can you show a video from a head light removal? how to unclip the headlight? Cheers

Hi, I haven't got my 2014 GSA yet but should do in a couple weeks, what I'm looking at doing is putting the frame on to take the Vario luggage system rather than sticking with the standard aluminium panniers. I'm assuming that this is straight forward.

If you want to have just the Vario luggage, you just remove the GSA racks and add GS footpegs, and they bolt right on.
