2014 Range Rover Sport 5.0 V8 Supercharged Review

The days of just one Range Rover are long gone -- on top of the full-fat car, there's both the Evoque and the Sport, designed to appeal to a younger, edgier audience.
While the current generation of the 'proper' Range Rover and its little brother the Evoque are pretty new to Land Rover's showrooms, the Sport has been a bit neglected. Until now, that is.
We've been off to drive the brand new, all-aluminium version, already causing a stir worldwide thanks to its glitzy, Daniel Craig-featuring reveal at the New York Motor Show. Is it any good? Well, watch and find out...

My father just bought one of those (his dream car). And as a German, I really have to admit this is one hell of a "SUV" you Englishmen built there! No comparison to the lame BMW X5/6 or Audi Q5/6. This one just delivers, it's beautiful, it's brutaly powerful, it's luxurious and after all you can still drive off road!...... AND it has this awesome V8 sound.... Well done! By the way, for all of you who didn't recognize this as a review... well, it just shows, no need for words!

+RPHD When I'm driving (means not racing all the time) it takes about 14 to 16 liters per 100 km but I guess you can raise to 20+ if you really want to. For comparison (if you are not familiar to metric system) a normal 4 cylinder family car would take about 6 to 8 liters. My brothers owns an 2007 Mustang GT, which takes about the same as the RR but has much less power and weight.

2014 RR will be as realiable as they have already proven to be - not realiable at all! These guys just can't focus to build the damn car right. Go to any Land Cruiser forum and then go to any Range Rover forum: and tell me why at RR like 90% of threads are about what broke and how to fix it? JD Power isn't lying and their own forum isn't lying as well -- Zero reliability. Great car for car mechanics as it makes them rich!

I'm not interested in experiencing the worst reliability in the world personally. That's why we have things like JD Powers which says year after year LR are the worst in the world in terms of reliability. Yep, less reliable than KIA when I checked last time. That's why you can get 2007 RR for $18K my friend. Because - according to JD Power - it has *T*H*E* *W*O*R*S*T* reliability of all the cars in the world. Sure Clarkson is so eccentric I wouldn't be surprised he insist on going everywhere on bicycles which doesn't change the fact that you never see GOvernments using RRs (except for British GOv that is). They can't risk the car breaking on a highway, let alone on the desert in a war zone.
