The differences between USA and Europe are pretty big when it comes to motors! Here in Europe, a 2.8 liter i4 would be considered 'big'. Whereas in the USA a 3.5l V6 is considered a medium spec engine. Crossovers with 1.6l diesels aren't unusual in Europe. Wish I lived in the US :P

The reason is because Hyundai Australia trade marked the highlander name in Australia. They use that name as a trim level on their SUVs. Therefore it's call that name.
