DO NOT USE THE 12V WIRE HE USES im driving a 2016 honda civic, i wired everything exactly the same, ive checked everything and ive had multiple other people look over my wiring, ive taken a volt meter to everything, and it all seems to work fine EXCEPT THE 12V Constant it only suppls 10V out of the factory harness and after passing through the converter to the signal wire it only has about 9.50 and it needs 12 to power on, after tapping into the wire he shows my rear bsck up camera no longer works and my trunk lid opens when turning the vehicle on or off

I’m struggling with gain control. This line out converter is very limited and you don’t really get to pull the best lows out for sound quality. I feel like there is too much highs and mids still coming through the sub. I feel like you also need to add a bass filter to isolate the lows.

The amp placement is not convenient if adjustments will need to be made on the amp. Tapping in to the wires in trunk for the Line Out Converter sounds problematic as comments above have mentioned. @SukhrajB
@SukhrajB Жыл бұрын
why did you opt to put the amplifier under the driver seat, rather than on the trunk for easy access? by tapping the rear speakers, did you not lose out on a lot of low frequency? From what I understand, these civics have poor stock radios that do a lot of cutting of the signals to not destroy the factory speakers. I noticed you did not use a Lc2i convertor. Instead you opted for a generic LOC. That means you are not getting the full signal for your amplifier right?
@ProvoBeastAudio
@ProvoBeastAudio Жыл бұрын
If your amplifier is setup correctly, no need to have "easy access" to it. We love installing amps under the seat as they are less likely to be damaged or messed with. We didn't experience any bass rolloff, and additionally the customer did not want to opt for an LC2i. You are welcome to spend more for an LC2i, and as for "full signal", many variables there. We set our gains to the factory audio using an SMD-DD1.

So I tapped into the same wire he did but that wire on my car is actually the trunk wire. So I had to disconnect the constant 12v and tomorrow I am running the constant 12 to the fuse box just to be sure. However this is going to be temporary because when the system was working the pac only has 55watts and my amp was basically at the lowest level it’s ever been so I’m getting an epicenter

@ProvoBeastAudio
@ProvoBeastAudio 3 ай бұрын
In standby, it pulls almost no amperage, and is meant to boot up an amplifier when there is the presence of either a DC offset or audio signal in an application where there may be a chime, or some sort of audio needed without the vehicle on. This is why it's meant to be connected to constant 12v. Read the instructions. Sure, that isn't necessarily needed for an amp / sub install, but this adapter is available for more applications than just that.

if i have a civic hatch with the subwoofer that it comes with, do i need to run a line output converter or can i just direct hardwire my amps line to the subwoofers line? thank you!

Line out converter at the factory sub wiring sub as the factory amp will have built in crossovers.

@@ProvoBeastAudio wym? I put my REM to my fuse under my dash (powers my radar and dash cam) now my sub “pops” or “thumps” after I turn my car off

I don't have the wire you tapped into in the trunk for 12V power! Weird, I have the other ones but just not the one you tapped. Do you by any chance know if it is different for Canadian civics?

Good question. Alternatively you can go to the fuse box, or simply tap into the positive post of the amplifier.

You never run your RCA wires on the same side your running power wire
@ProvoBeastAudio
@ProvoBeastAudio Жыл бұрын
Tons of variables there. If you have good quality RCA cables, and a good ground, with modern electronics, you will no likely have any distortion, ground loop noise, etc in your audio. In the case of this video, perfect audio quality, no noise. As long as you correctly install your audio components, you don't necessarily need to separate your wiring, especially with a sub amp.

I’m not impressed wires are hidden that’s it. Ground is not a good legal safe ground. You have your power and speaker wires are going down the same side. Good practice m.
