While I have the intake off, I'm going to walnut blast the valves clean. Very important on GDI and only takes a few minutes per cylinder.

Thanks for posting this, it's a very informative video. I have a 2019 Hyundai Tucson with a steady orange check engine light that came on. The diagnostic was done, the code showed an error then corrected itself. The mechanic said flaps could be gummed up, and suggested the intake manifold to be replaced. I'm waiting to hear back from my dealership to see if this would be covered under the extended warranty that I purchased. Would you have any idea if such a repair is included in the extended warranty?

Do you know if an internal issue eith the intake manifold can cause it to melt on the outside? Melted that little circular piece to the middle left right off. Melted a hole through the upper left of the manifold which then dripped onto the circular piece, taking it off 😭 Wish i could show you images

No, an intake manifold will not cause timing codes
