After adding engine oil, I recommend starting the engine and watch the oil filter housing for a couple of minutes to make sure there are no leaks. Give the drain plug the same, look at it to check for leaks.

There is no 2023 Chevy Trax. 2022 Trax has a different engine, 155HP spin ON type, PF64, at the engine bottom, not cartridge as earlier models.
@johnroberts482310 күн бұрын
My 2022 list a AC Delco pf64. Doesn’t take the filter on top, it’s not n the bottom. Please change it!
@justinplasschaert432 Жыл бұрын
It's easier to remove your dr 5:33 ain plug when the oil is hot. Take it for a spin before you change your oil. I imagine it drains better too.

Nice Show I have a 2018 with 1.4 turbo also I bought a Fram Tough Guard filter It has the cap seal O-ring and a small O ring but you didn't show a install of a second O ring ? unless it goes on the drain plug Maybe ?
@YOUCANIC8 ай бұрын
Hi there! Thanks for reaching out. If your Fram Filter came with an extra O-ring, it's often for the drain plug. However, specifics can vary by car model. Question: I want to change the oil on my 2018 Chevrolet Trax Premier AWD 1.4L FI Turbo DOHC 4cyl. But Auto Zone has two different type filters. One with something called: "UFI housing" and another with, "Hengst housing". Which kind do I get? Does it mater? It looks like the car you are working on has the Hengst filter.
@BusyMEOW Жыл бұрын
If you have another car or someone to take you to the shop I'd recommend taking out your filter and bringing it in to compare and get the right one
@ricebike Жыл бұрын
Just buy both when you there.... Go home and change out the oil and filter... Don't get the boxes dirty! Return the other filter for a refund and used oil for recycling at the same store Save box top of the filter you have used, put mileage and date on it, then put that in the glove box for future reference
@meronmountains7052 Жыл бұрын
Thanks. Great idea! As it happens, my 2018 Trax uses the Hengst housing filter.
@PhilipStock-pm7ji8 ай бұрын
You probably know by now You need to read the plastic cap it will have either UFI on the cap or You may have a Hengst on the cap that's how I found out witch filter to buy.

You should have shown people which groove the o ring goes in. It is the wide groove near the top. also, you failed to mention that you should put oil on that o ring before you reinstall the oil filter into the engine. Also, for safety, I recommend a set of ramps for your oil change. So much safer. Just have someone watching as you pull the vehicle on.

Those factory oil drain plugs are aluminum, which is ridiculous in my opinion. The bolt head rounds off very easily. I bought a steel replacement drain plug at O'Reilly Auto Parts. Just be careful not to over-tighten it because the oil pan itself is also aluminum.
