It’s so weird how much hate there is for the Ecoboost online. Subaru has a turbo 4 banger , Mitsubishi evo has a turbo 4 banger , Nissan Sylvia is a turbo 4 banger , Eclipse DSM is a turbo 4 banger , GTi is a turbo 4 banger , Golf R is a turbo 4 banger , Focus STand RS are both turbo 4 bangers. So many tuner cars with huge HP performance numbers and yet the Mustang gets hate . Why can’t people just be true enthusiasts .

Installed the all stainless, non resonator model. Sounds really nice and low. Good growl on the gas. Have a PerfPack equipped with MMR CAI and a BamaTune (93) will be dyno'd soon. But even the seat of the pant's dyno feels obvious. I'm always amazed that the V8 crowd can't just settle down and be car guys. Appreciate a good motor for what it is. For the $, this thing cranks. Better yet, it even handles nice.

For anyone wondering. This fits a convertible. Just remove the brace, use a jack to pry up the y pipe plate. With enough trial and error Ull find the right fit. Tighten everything then u can release the jack and put the bracket back on. Zero drone (maybe I got lucky). Quiet when u want it to be, loud when u want.

How terrible are the clamps on these systems, do they tend to leak? Seem like there are a lot of these clamp on systems that start leaking pretty often. I just got mine installed and I like the deeper tone but there is resonance around the cabin that makes the stereo music hard to hear I think they need to increase the wall thickness of the pipes to kind of push the pressures towards the back, I think that would make them a little quieter inside the cabin. Borla has some very cool sounding systems, but at a higher cost one aspect you must consider as in my case. I would not recommend this particular system for a daily driver. Just my 2 cents. UPDATE: added a resonator, cherry bomb, and it helped with the droning some but the vibration is too much for my taste. I'm selling it.

How does the MBRP set up size up to the Flowmaster Outlaw axle backs? I like how deep the MBRP is, but Ive heard alot about the drone being bad at 2-2.5k RPM. I've also heard a lot of good about the Flowmaster's, but it doesn't seem to sound as good as the MBRP's in videos. Any suggestions?

This is not true. If you look on the MBRP web site (mbrpautomotive.com/index.php?page=products&part=S7275409) and read the installation instructions, it explains what to do with the convertible. You just have to remove the undercar brace, install the pipes, and return the brace.

Bill: Any chance you can check with MBRP whether this exhaust works with the convertible, as their instruction sheet indicates, and whether it would be "too loud?" I tried contacting them, but could never get a response. I am still curious about the volume of this vs street, although I may just give up and go with the Magnaflow Street, when we get the car out of winter storage. I was planning to get a professional to install it.

It will only work if you remove the factory braces. Too Loud is subjective, everyone's tolerance of loud will be different.

I called MBRP today. They said the exhaust will fit the convertible, but you do just need to remove and replace the brace like said up above. However they said just once in awhile there may be a little bit of rattle

Hey Bill, I really appreciate and like your videos. I haven't got my ecoboost mustang convertible yet. I am this coming spring though. I have been looking at the comments and seen one close to mine,but want make sure and clarify a bit. I am used to the V8 sounds. just wanted to ask. which exhaust would make a closer sound similar to a v8 type of sound. I want it to be deep like a v8 and a little noticeable too. I'm used to pulling up to a light or cruising with a noticeable sound and growl. just don't want it going silent really. mbrp race or MagnaFlow comp. I was thinking mbrp race. I bought this but it came in 3 different parts, the muffler with the tip, the y pipe and another pipe that connects from the y pipe to the muffler. Now it keeps falling how can i fix it? It just keeps falling

The kit has to come in pieces to be able to ship it, the supplied clamps should have no problems keeping it together if they were tightened properly but an exhaust shop could tack them in place if needed. - Bill

I like it but I feel the borla atak cat back does it better. It gives the engine much more presence without sounding like it’s about too blow up, which is typically the noise you get when you get a really loud exhaust.

Suggest you call Customer Service at MBRP. I have a 2019 Mustang Ecoboost Convertible . Rep suggest “Street” model rather than the Race model. And yes, either model can be installed with very minor adjustment
