Oregon had to be the most bi-polar team in recent college football. With Adams at QB, they were very impressive. When Adams was out, they were downright atrocious.
@intherelikeswimwear98 жыл бұрын
Well, yeah, of course. Look who our back up QB was! Oregon staff did a poor job of recruiting at the QB position while Mariota was there and got lucky with the Adams transfer.

Just now watching this game for the first time, seven years after the game. Haha But I remember all the hubbub about it, how Kohlhausen saved the day. I'm glad he got recognition for his play. He seems like he would have made a great starting quarterback, a real leader and team player there.

This game redeemed the 2015-2016 bowl season. It was the worst bowl season I have ever seen in 30 years of following college football in terms of bad games and this looked like another one at halftime - but turned out to maybe be the best game of the entire season.

Was there with Dad! Still can't believe it. After half time we were thinking of leaving. Good thing we stayed! In fairness to Oregon though they lost their star QB and their starting Center. Caused a lot of problems for them and we probably don't win if those things don't happen.

Oregon what have never had a lead in the game if Boykin wasn't arrested.
@mallsanta44366 жыл бұрын
Adriyel Compean Boykin would not make a difference to 31-0, it would have been 42-0 If VA played the whole first half. If both teams had all players, Oregon would have won in a very close very Offensive game.
@grondhero3 жыл бұрын
Boykin would have made a *_huge_* difference. TCU was out its starting QB, it's starting center, and it's top 2 receivers, along with several 2nd string players. Here's TCU with its starters, 42-3 vs Ole Miss (the first of back-to-back years Ole Miss beat Alabama) kzbin.info/www/bejne/n3-ZYnWJaMiUpa8

The missed 2-point conversion in 3OT wasn't a case of Kohlhausen not getting his feet set. Watching the replay at 2:51:04 it was because he was throwing right between 2 defenders and was instinctually worried about the pick. Of course it was a try, so a pick likely wouldn't have been a huge deal unless they ran it back for a safety, but that is why he skipped it. It is much clearer in the replay.

The thing about this game is even though Oregon was killing TCU early. They got a lead too early. Had it been late 3rd or early 4th with a 28 point lead it would be a little tougher. Early 2nd is too much time for a team to adjust and get momentum. That game was crazy nonetheless

TCU had absolutely no business winning this game. In fact, the only reason they did win is because Oregon's so-called "backup" qb Jeff Lockie is so pathetic any time he has to play the Ducks are guaranteed a loss. Even with a 31 to 0 lead left by Vernon Adams at halftime, not even that could cover up how truly unathletic and pathetic Jeff Lockie is as a quarterback. Hell, Lockie shouldn't be a 2nd string qb let alone a 4th string qb. Official football drier, maybe. At least with TCU's backup qb you could expect to move the ball, because unlike Mark Helfrich, TCU's coach understands that you can't afford to neglect the most important position of any football team, the qb and his backup. Helfrich had 2 years to find, recruit and develop a successor to Oregon's most successful qb in recent memory if not all-time, Marcus Mariota. Instead, he rested on his laurels and rode the coat tails of Mariota's success completely neglecting the future of his team by failing to understand the importance of developing a 3 to 4 year freshman quarterback recruit. Instead he opted to rent a qb to cover up his egregious coaching and when that qb got injured, his so-called "team" turned out to be an empty shell. It doesn't help, of course, when you've got some misplaced sense of loyalty and duty and you promote an incompetent coach to head your defense such as Helfrich did with Don Pellum. I know, I know, Oregon does things differently, they hire "in-house." Apparently the Oregon athletic director believes the most important requisite is that you've been around at Oregon a while to get important coaching positions at Oregon, as for whether you are actually qualified for that position, well... who cares, right? Speaking of incompetence, did Mark Helfrich, being the head coach that he is ever bother to see if the "backup" center knew what a football was, let alone how to snap it correctly? Oops! another one of those simple oversights I guess. Just one of those "millions of things that went wrong and we need to get better at", right Helfie? But don't worry, the blame falls on Mark Helfrich, yeah, that's the way it works Mark, who else should be responsible? Mark, you are fucking pathetic, you have no business being head coach at Oregon and I'm sick of your very predictable post-loss excuses. If it were my decision, I would have fired your ass mid season this year. Sadly, Jeff Lockie, the backup qb that couldn't fight his way out of a wet paper sack if his life depended on it is slated to join the 2016 roster as backup behind incoming FCS Montana State Dakota Prukop, yeah, yet another rent-a-qb experiment Helfrich believes counts as real coaching. Someone might want to let Helfrich know that college football coaches for as long anyone can remember have had a system to develop quarterbacks, especially ones that can stick around for more than 1 year of playing eligibility, it's called "recruiting" not this collegiate free-agency bs you're pulling 2 years running. So here's to another year of Oregon mediocrity and mismanagement. Will the Ducks reach the vaunted heights of college football and win 8 games next season? Wow! what a dream season that would be. Maybe even we could get a rematch with the elite of elite programs, TCU and have a tiny, tiny! chance of losing to them by less than a touchdown. Wow, but we can only what if because that seems like a long shot to be honest. Until then, I'll be praying that somehow the Oregon athletic director pulls his head out of his ass and fires Helfrich. Unfortunately, Oregon will have to go through another year of ESPN "WHAT IF!..." dramatics in order to find out what is so abundantly clear to almost everyone, Helfrich isn't head coach material, he never was.

+Soron Lewels hey. TCU won, your argument is invalid.
@soronlewels16738 жыл бұрын
+rbintherock09 Your team was butt raped by halftime by the worst Ducks team in over a decade, you didn't win shit, Oregon lost. And yet you were barely able to beat not only the worst Ducks team, but the worst Ducks team with thee worst quarterback in all of college football (Jeff Lockie) and even then, that took you 3OTs. It really isn't the accomplishment you want it to be, any fuckin' 6th grade team could beat this Oregon team with Lockie at qb.
@rbintherock098 жыл бұрын
You seem to forget the part where TCU still won, and you are wrong. You seem to be a bit distraught by the loss, you might need to see a psychiatrist, it'll help tame your anger. Poor Duck fun.
@soronlewels16738 жыл бұрын
+rbintherock09 Any quarterback besides Jeff Lockie, and Oregon would have tacked on another 25, 30 points by games end. Admit it, your team was finished until Oregon put in the worst backup qb in the world. Your team lost but won because Oregon has a very bad head coach and doesn't even understand the importance of developing a quarterback team. That means having a backup that can actually run your system and Jeff Lockie can't. If it were Chip Kelly, your horned frogs would have lost 56 to 3. You are just lucky you got the lamest Ducks team in a decade. TCU is some two-bit program in the Big 12, the Pac-12 has reached parity, every game can be a loss, the Big 12, hell, that's a cup cake walk.
@rbintherock098 жыл бұрын
idk man. i Read 47-41 TCU win. Listen do yourself a favor and save yourself, you clearly can't read and understand the scoreboard and the team effort lost by Oregon. But you know, apparantly scoring higher is losing lul get over it, they lost, your argument can't change it, and doesn't really matter what you type next. Go cry to someone who cares *shrugs*
