Joe buck and Harold Reynolds were slobbering over wanting the Blue Jay's to win so bad...instead of a team that hadn't been relevant in 30 years but wanted a team that stays relevant most years, how sad it was to listen to...just like in the 2014 WS when Joe buck was deep throating Madison Bumgarner the entire series, it was sickening...

John Gibbons sat out the Blue Jays starters after clinching the East Division title in Baltimore in 2015. That essentially cost the Blue Jays a chance to clinch home-field advantage and KC got it. Gibbons was overrated as a "manager"-he left the Blue Jays and thought the MLB would be knocking at his door for another managerial position in 2000. Didn't work out that way--Gibbons now acts as some kind of "scout advisor" for the Braves because his pal Alex Anthopoulos got him the job (just like his pals got him the Blue Jays managerial position before)

It wouldn't have mattered. No one was winning the world series in 2015 except the Royals. Team of destiny

@@zachmcnerney409 I agree-II live in Toronto and I absolutely HATED Gibbons. For whatever r,eason there is a "love affair" with this twit here. He only got his job because of friendships in the organization not because he had any managerial skills he cultivated or had in the first place. First time he managed the Blue Jays his pal J.P Riccardi gave him a job as manager (a stint that was remembered for Gibbons challenging a player to a fist fight). He got a second chance to manage because of his friendship with GM Alex Anthopoulos-and even though the team made the playoffs he mismanaged the Blue Jays throughout this term. When he "stepped down," Gibbons said he would take "a year off" and then field new managerial offers. Problem was that no team wanted anything to do with him (including the Royals). Despite multiple open managerial positions opening up in 2020 not one team even offered him an interview. Hence he went to Atlanta where his pal Anthopoulos gave him a meaningless scouting job. The MLB brain trust knows this boob is useless

Ump ended up giving that game to the Royals, IIRC. That way-outside-the-zone strike call against Revere in the ninth - changed the whole at-bat, and that was after a brutal strike call and a missed balk when Davis pitched Navarro.
@duckshaker
@duckshaker 3 жыл бұрын
You're absolutely right. What a lousy call. Also, did you happen to notice that Joe Buck blew the call of the end of the game? Listen close and you'll hear him say "Blue Jays win the pennant".

So you are the "I blame an entire game on one pitch guy." While ignoring any other potential miscalls. Sour grapes.
@hawthornetimms6252
@hawthornetimms6252 2 жыл бұрын
@@joeomalley2835 No, wrong. It was not the pitch, "Joe", it was the call. Further, the game's outcome up to that point was of course based on a pile of factors. I absolutkeky From that point on, however, the game suddenly changed its tenor. Revere could no longer trust the zone, the pitch count suddenly becomes a pitcher's count, and thus he swings at a brutal pitch that followed.

Too bad the umps ruined the game by counting that “HR” that was clearly the fan reaching over the wall and of course the horrible calls by the home plate ump in 9th

Bautista was an egotistical jerk. After 2015 he told Blue Jays management he wanted a "5 year $150 million contract" and he wouldn't budge for any less. As it turned out nobody wanted to sign him (including Baltimore whose fans told their management to not even think of signing him) and he ended up back in Toronto for a lot less than what he demanded
