I have driven one 70000+ problem free miles for work (local delivery of auto parts). It gets driven pretty hard. Overall I like it. I don't think it is under powered unless very heavily loaded, it has good acceleration and will cruise at 70 mph all day. Tracks well, easy to park, and maneuver. I don't have the tech package just an AM/FM/CD that is OK, power mirrors and cruise. Has the bluetooth phone thing that I don't use but annoys me if I hit the wrong button. No carpet just the cargo van rubber mat which I like - you can clean it out with a hose. The long term fuel mileage is 28.6 mpg according to the dash. The rear doors open 180 degrees and the load height is low. The dual side sliders are nice. Plenty of room under the hood. Still on the original brakes. A few small issues. The fuel door is junk, bends easily and then doesn't latch. The cargo hooks in the floor get dirty and then don't swivel. You need to keep them lubed and clean. Tires are a little pricey for their size because they call for a high load rating. It doesn't fit a 4x8 sheet of plywood unless the rear doors are open. The seat is a little narrow and I often have to reposition myself so I'm not sitting on the edge but it is comfortable enough. The dashboard illumination is terrible even at the brightest setting. And the gas tank is tiny (400 mile range) so I am always feeding the thing.

I plan to use it for mobile detailing, i will have around 100 gallons of water, a pressure washer(50ibs), a generator, a compressor, and other miscellaneous tools and items in the van. In your opinion will this be too heavy and require me to opt for a different van?
@thomassciurba53232 жыл бұрын
@@joestewart8966 I would check the GVWR and try to estimate what you plan to haul around. It may be able to do it but I don’t think you will be happy even if it can. I can tell when I have 8 car batteries in the back, and water weighs like 5# per gallon.
@thomassciurba53232 жыл бұрын
Oh yeah just passed 135k miles and the only real repairs have been tires and brakes. The drivers seat is starting to tear at the side seam though from the constant in and out.

@@thomassciurba5323 thank you for the information man, it’s greatly appreciated. Is there any other van that’s relatively small that you would recommend, besides the transit connect lol

Pretty sad that chevy couldnt come up with their own van. But had to use another car company and rebadge it as theirs...😕

I just hope GM doesn't do away with the Express/Savanna. The city express van on the other hand is quirky but however it is the most stylish of it's class

My company bought one of these. Many odd features or lack of features - tiny rock hard tires - no rear windows (I guess that's an option) - very far back to reach seat belt - overly short sun visor for very far back windows and does not adequately cover the center of the windshield - an odometer which has too many functions, most a problem is when its low on gas it blinks that you need gas and will not show the odometer reading. - small fuel tank, left gas fill vs more common right. (not abiggie) - hood release and gas door release are next to each other, means the hood often gets released when you just want gas. - Both mirrors are convex, the passenger side mirror has does not give an idea of distance which makes it hard to use backing up. - no electric door locks (Yes they do tend to crap out after time, but are useful when work) - some door locks unlock when turned to the left, some when turned to the right. (we put a magic marker dot on the side which it locks. - noisy drive. There is no sound damper on the inside walls or ceiling. - toy horn sound - slow heater warm up, and fan speed is fast, very fast, and extreme fast, all more noisey that desired. (was this to compensate for the fact that the van is not insulated? - slightly under powered. We do not need a muscle car engine, but it is scary on some access ramps for the interstate highways. - passenger wiper does not wipe the top 1/3 of the windshield. - tiny printing on the radio and other dash controls ( this is a problem with all new cars) - dim instrument cluster lights - Antenna which keeps breaking off There are many good features and its better than our old GMC Safari van, which we liked, but ran into the ground and became unreliable.

Chris Doeller only negs, imo, are the hard seats and even harder suspension. This thing is one rough ride!

Nothing at all exciting about it, but then there doesn't need to be. The only advantage of buying this Nissan that is thinly veiled as a Chevy is that there are a lot more Chevy dealers than Nissan so help is closer if something were to break. The only real reason for this thing to exist is so Chevy can service their fleet customers who need a small van.

I've had a Transit connect brand new and also Chevy city express brand new as work trucks and I will say it's sad I'm a Chevy fan but this city express is a piece of shit. So Slow you have to floor the pedal ten seconds ahead to get a running start to pass, cheap thin steel wheels almost everyone in my company has bent rims so you feel like your landing an airplane when you slow down to stop it shakes so bad. Also real world 24 mpg. The only good thing about it is it's a Nissan motor so you know it will last. Even the speakers sound like shit. When I had a 2012 Transit, as much as I hate to admit it, the thing was decent and got 27 mpg with no troubles.
@taradead6 жыл бұрын
Robert Hunley Robert Hunley I agree it's not the highest quality construction...but "pos" is a bit harsh. I have the 2017 nissan version and it frequently gets over 30 mpg. The wheels arent that bad, but the suspension is horrible...any little bump and your shit gets tossed around the cargo area.
