2015 Ford Edge Rear Shock Mount and Shock Absorber Replacement

Finally figured out what the rattle was in our Ford Edge.

The menacing noise you have been hearing is the Mount (made of aluminum) rubbing against the threading of the strut (made of steel). So it the threading of the strut that is worn, and not necessarily the Mount. The strut comes with an offset angle, so be careful when mounting the new strut

Thanks. The shock mount was off center and the hole was elongated. Just glad it finally got fixed.

Also I had to use a floor jack to line up the holes.

I know, I don't know why we didn't have someone figure it out. I guess we didn't think it was critical. Now the car is so quiet. Oh well.
