I admit I didn't like the new Explorer at first but all things have to change sometime. Very nice though!

The old body-on-frame Explorer still was the real thing what comes on 4x4 SUVs! This new one uses the same passenger car -unibody platform than Ford Flex and Lincoln MKT, those arent real 4x4 SUVs...And no v8 available anymore.. What a shame..

+Pyry Raunio Yeah, that improved handling, ride, noise, and vibration must be a drag.

Bruno TaTa ya it rides nicer overall but unibody isn’t good for the TraiL`. But let’s be honest how many of these will ever even touch dirt?

I have owned both each for half a decade and the pre 2011-15 models were a totally different vehicle. No one realistically will be taking this out to the mud hole or the trail with big time obstacles. Explorers are meant to dominate the road and that is what they do. The 11-15+ explorers are an excellent combination of performance, quality material, excellent integrated tech, the ability to haul at ton of people and materials, towing comfort. Excellent vehicle, the pre 2011 Explorers were nice, they were in a whole different class though and definitely part of the times then. Good vehicle more of a basic truck with a back row and excellent hauling capacity. The main issue with the pre 2011 explorers was a big tendency to be rollover prone, always felt like you were going to tip with the newer body style explorer you are glued to the ground and in terms of tipping over you might as well be driving a pyramid it handles so well and is extremely stable.

That's an ecoboost. The 2.0L I-4 ecoboost. Not really a great engine, ubles you get the newer 2.3L Ecoboost, which is alright. But I prefer V6
@WrightMotorsRV4 жыл бұрын
That one has the 3.5L V6 24v in it. Ford didn't put the 2.0L ecoboost in the Explorer only the Edge. They offered them in a 3.5L V6 24V NA, 2.7L Ecoboost, and 3.5L Ecoboost Sport edition.

2nd row sucks on these. The bench seat feels cheap and cramped.
