Eric Brunhammer It definitely would be great in a Miata since they practically weight nothing. It's good in the Mustang and the Mustang is quite heavy so a little roadster like an MX-5 would fly like the wind!

Mazda's big mistake was not giving the Miata more horses (or at least that option) to attract more male sports car buyer's.

The small engine comment is crap. A lot of your v6 and v8s are pushing around the same horse power unless you opt to up the performance package. I can't see 300 horse power not being enough to drive this car.

@newgenerationisbg 9 жыл бұрын
+FoxTailWhipz Well, thanks to all these computers, cars are now safer, make more power out of smaller engines and are MUCH better on Gas. If you want a good driving experience, there are plenty of Miatas waiting to be turbocharged out there, and it doesn't even cost much to do that. You still sort of keep the good fuel economy, and get a car that corners really well, and will be fast in a straight line because it's very light (compared to the Mustang). Won't do much for you if you crash, but still.

RoyalSilver&Gold If the person has direct access to your vehicle, then yes. A multimedia system that has an internet connection has no real connection to your car's ECU, which means it has no control over the main functions of your vehicle. But if someone gains direct access to your vehicle, it would be much easier to just stick a small explosive at one of your wheels, then blow it up as you are moving. The explosion wouldn't kill you, and the damage from it won't even be noticeable after your car wraps itself around a boulder or tree, or falls off a bridge into the water. Don't believe everything on the internet. If you have ACTUAL enemies, and I don't mean your mean neighbor Bob that once dinged your car door, then the last thing you need to worry about is how "easy" it is to hack into a vehicles control unit. Also, brakes are still primarily mechanically controlled. If you are SO afraid of someone locking up your brakes, take out the ABS fuse and the car no longer has even the slightest control over your braking. Get a manual so if they control the throttle, you can just disconnect the gearbox from the engine, and get a car with classic hydraulic steering to prevent them from having control over steering. I don't know what you mean by an "old" car (I'm guessing 20+ years), but you can still get a car that isn't fully computer controlled, but has most of the safety features of a new car.
@Pokemonguy16RS
@Pokemonguy16RS 9 жыл бұрын
another problem is that when these new cars become old and has all these computer wiring everywhere that will break eventually, then thats going to get real costy... and other things that are in the car.

Two things: ditto on the torque, and that 0-60 run was downhill, on a freeway merge. A run from stopped on the shoulder (or even rolling 5 mph on the shoulder looking for a safe entry point) would've been a better representation of the actual acceleration. Completely unrelated to the 'Stang: Jason I mean this in the most positive way... but everytime I watch a review, I can't help but hum 'Rainbow Connection' in my head. XD The gap is between that delivery, and the high quality of the data and great presentation on your channel, is pretty awesome. :D

You can keep it from switching out of paddle mode if you use the paddle shifters in "semi-automatic shifting sport mode" or the "S" on the stick (This is also basic Sport mode) Comes with 5 modes on the Ecoboost model: Sport, Sport+, Track, Snow/Wet, and Normal/Eco. Also the different Sport modes allow for different feel of the car, for example you will find it hugs the road and corners more in track mode. this will adjust the steering as well (Normal, Sport, Comfort)

Its actually good that the paddles are active all the time. It just works better when you can select a gear (get the revs up) before you even start to make a pass or roll into a highway pull. I have a vehicle with paddle shifters and its just annoying having to shift into manual mode so I can downshift into some powerband, then put it back into drive when I'm done. Plus its easy to forget your in manual mode too

Shift it into 'S' just below drive, then if you use the paddles they will stay active and won't automatically shift until you put it back into 'D' Sport, Sport + and track mode function this way as well, but mine is a 2016 so I don't know if that was something changed.

One thing that is *very* important to note - you do *not* get 310 HP and 320 torques unless you put in 93-octane fuel! On 87-octane, you get 275 HP and 300 torques. (I might be wrong on that torque figure for 87-octane - it might be lower? But I’m pretty sure it’s 300 on 87-octane).

+Makis Equinox Yeah, but the Torque is much higher. It's like 300 - 400 TQ. What this means is that it's power-band is narrow. It's still a very powerful car. I think, that if you raced these 2 cars. 305 HP 320TQ vs 230 HP 400TQ. And Assume they weigh the same, the One with the lower HP but higher TQ would win. Edit:Also assume they both are Manual Transmission and both have the same gearing for some reason, and maybe get rid of any other variables. Edit: Oh, shit, also assume this is a drag race!

+Engineering Explained 3 things people want in a car are performance, reliability, and great MPG. in reality you can only have 2. just look at the Hyundai genesis coupe V6, it boasts performance and MPG but look at how reliable it is, nothing but transmission issues, the auto doesn't shift right, and the manual grinds 5th and 2nd.
@mutiracialbeatdownPB

@halo3pownage
@halo3pownage 9 жыл бұрын
+mutiracialbeatdownPB not really power is the direct result of gas being burnt, more power means more gas is needed which means lower MPG. even those ecoboost or whatever manufacture wants to call it when you get on it(IE make power that's being claimed) burn even more gas than a N/A big motor.

i honestly wanted to hate this car but i cant. for what it is its really good. not only does the smaller engine out perform v8s of old but it also out performs the modern 3.7 v6. the only issue is that people cant get over the fact that its a 4 cyl mustang. ill be the first to agree that it just sounds wrong. its almost sacrilege. you get in the car and ignore all of its upcomings because you cant get over the 4 banger in the pony. however, if this didnt have the mustang name. if this was just another car made by some other company i guarantee the world would be singing its praises. you get a RWD only, turbo charged 4 cyl making more power than a brand new WRX STI. you get a great handling vehicle for its size, a meaty looking sportscar, a HUGE aftermarket support , and a great quality interior wrapped in an affordable package. its biggest downfall is simply that it is overshadowed by by its GT cousin. once you see what the v8 can do. this just looks like a joke.

Ricer motor in a muscle car body, a first. The motor can be modded to 550hp for ten grand. Keep the twin scroll configuration and you'll still get lots of low end torque. This car will rock in road racing. Mine started getting into the twelves tuned without a turbo upgrade, that's pretty darn good! Even snapped an axle! Beware of reliability though, turbo cars can be delicate.

For the price of this car you could have a GT with Performance Pack and several track days. Yikes!

+GadgetsNGear yeah thats true and its not under 30k anymore either, rather get the v6 fastback 2015 at least its 24k and put cold air intake on it or a throttle body would be as fast as the ecoboost without even reaching the price of the base ecoboost
@Flakey86
@Flakey86 9 жыл бұрын
+I dont even know EE explained the cost of the car he was testing. 25k is the base price for the Eco. They can easily be optioned to be more expensive than a base GT.

This is the new mom version (Eco, convertible, automatic) since the v6 is basically phasing out. I wouldn't mind an ecoboost fastback with a manual and the performance pack though.

+Ross Miller ford has sold more v6s than gt and ecoboosts, with the v6 you get the best car for your money, when you add a high end performance exhaust system to the v6 it will have that intense muscle car growl that an ecoboost would never dream of having and you get a fairly decent MPG ratings that is atless better than the gt (and thats all you need!). in reality the v6 is farr from phasing out brother. also keep in mind that the v6 only comes in one basic trim and still outsold the gt and ecoboosts that comes in numerous different trim levels. when i first went to my dealer like 4 month ago asking for a v6 he told me they are sold out even from nearby dealers in ontario and i had to factory order one and w8t for 2month. he also offered to sell me the ecoboost which they had a huge inventory of for the same price of the v6 and i rejected and still went for the v6. what does that tell you?? i uploaded a vid on my channel of that v6 (that is "phasing out" like you said) revving with some flowmasters , let me know what you think!

I noticed that you said the car produced 175 lb/ft of torque in the video (4:06), but the car actually seems to produce 320 lb/ft of torque at 3000 rpm... Why is this?

hello, My question is no about this video, but about a video you've done in the past about painting intercooler black. You stated and proved that there are no benefits to paint it black. How about painting intercooler piping? I asked you this question because all manufacturers use black pipes in most applications, but most aftermarket pipes are polished
