2015 GMC Sierra Service trailer brake fix

Check the fuses first. My Chevy dealer wanted to charge me $900.00 to fix my truck. My son checked the power fuse and replaced it for $5.00 . Fixed the problem.

2012 1500. Replaced $25 relay fixed dashboard message. Voltage at 5 o'clock pin ranged from 3.6 - 4.9 volts. I assumed the module was bad. Connected truck to a trailer with KNOWN working brakes. Works fine. Moral of the story....check on a trailer with KNOWN working brakes before spending money on parts. Mine truck has the very expensive to purchase/program ITCM (integrated trailer control module) combo fuel control and trailer brake module. JL1 code on your glove box sticker

I pulled the bed on my 2015 GMC 2500 HD to access the trailer control module and then realized that the plate that these two modules mount on is retained by 3 Torx head screws that are in slotted holes. A #30 Torx socket to back off the screws a few turns then slide the plate toward the drivers side and it drops down. Next time if there it happens again I won't pull the bed. 😄

What is the max voltage I should read on the trailer brakes with gain at 10 (max) F150 at a standstill and using the manual trailer brake at max

I have a 2015 silverado, the trailer brake message was coming on randomly and trowing no codes, I’ve unplugged the wiring at the controller and the rear plug, cleaned everything greased the connector and the problem went away.

Any tips how to remove that plug. Looks like the same plug that’s on my 2021

Great video!! But I removed the fuse and it did not silence the beeping. You mentioned when you removed your fuse the beeping silenced? Just wondering if you have any tips.

On the 2017 and up the module is facing down and next to the other module .
