I am 5 ft 7. I noticed the the driver's door grip handle is intruding into my left knee when you set the driver's seat at the regular position. I can only get this issue away by positioning the driver seat all the way to the back. So I have comfortable seating position. As I can see in your video. your lest side knee is against the door grip. I am holding back my purchase of the odyssey. I checked the Sienna which is feels great when you are in the driver seat.

I can tell you that I don't ever notice a cramped in feel or anything when driving the vehicle. I do however get a bit cramped in the passenger seat when our carseat is in it because it is rear facing and I can't push the seat all the way back. Im 6' and a pretty big guy and I personally don't have any issues with comfort.

I read many complaints including lawsuit about Honda VCM issue - the engine consumes oil as well. What's your thoughts on that?

There were some issues with some of the VCM (variable cylinder management) on the v6 engines a few years back. There were some isolated instances I remember, but I have not personally heard or have had any issues with my odyssey or any of this years model.

Excellent Review. thanks a ton. I am at crossroads considering whether to buy a 2015 odyssey EXL or a 2015 sienna XLE. I do not need a AWD. My decision making is based on engine, transmission and maintenance costs. All other things do not matter or very little. Can u compare these two cars across engine and transmission reliability and maintenance costs? would it be a wash or would honda score better than toyota?

TV Maysan, I highly recommend using KBB 5 year cost to own in order to get this information. I rely heavily on third party info and KBB right now has a great tool. Go to KBB.com, click on research tab, then 5 year cost to own. It will allow you to pick vehicles and compare them based on the criteria you are looking for. I will be biased as I'm sure you can guess!

i had leased twice the Honda Odyssey and (i thought) i needed a change so on the advice of my local leasing dealer i got the Toyota Sienna for 24 months... and i can't wait to change back to the Odyssey... In my humble opinion it all boils down to what kind of driver you are, granted the Toyota has nicer trimmings and a more luxurious touch but you can't compare it to the agility and sharp drive of the Honda where the Toyota lacks all of that, the tires on the toyota are really bad in handling its engine is noisier at low speed... however if you're more a relaxed driver you will most probably enjoy the Toyota better... oh how can i forget the GPS, backup camera and entertainment in the Toyota is so bad in the 2013 models that its a waste of money... Edit: i don't know how it is in the 2015 models.
