Come on. He's definitely one of the highlights, but what about Mark, Carrie, Harrison, Yoda, Dave Prowse/JEJ as Vader, Alec Guiness, Ewan McGregor, or Adam Driver in the new ones? Or even the special effects and props (lightsabers, Death Stars, robots, spaceships, creatures...come on! XD), they're absolutely impeccable (especially in the recent movies) and even though the sequel storyline stinks sometimes, you can't really overlook the technical prowess that went into making these movies. For all their faults, they're very visually impressive and quite esthetically pleasing.

The special effects of the originals look absolutely ridiculous from a modern perspective, the storyline is simplistic, and the overhyping is real. For example, I never really understood why people love the Empire strikes back so much, it was boring to me, az well as A new hope. And then ROTJ just fascinated me with its element of psychological masochism between Vader and the Emperor, that was pretty complex. But the rest - utter disinterest.

@@KRISTIANITY_ I think the simplistic and straighforward storyline is precisely the reason why people love it so much. It's escapism in its purest form :) And the films have some deeper psychological undercurrents as well, so they work both for people who just want to be entertained and for those who like having something to pick apart and analyse. I get what you're talking about, but I still love these movies, they'll always be very close to my heart :) And Ian is brilliant in them, that's for sure.

It may be only one element of the story and only one particular character, but even so, the whole story is worth experiencing to me if it's gonna introduce me to that one specifically fascinating aspect.

I know I'm late to the party but I was there in the park that day. My son had just finished the Jedi academy and we were sitting on a bench waiting for my wife when a heard of cast members escorted Sir Ian past us. I went all Fanboy and told my son who it was. He couldn't stop because he was on the way to presumably this. He did however look directly at my son, snear and do the force lightning hands.Then he was gone as quickly as he had come, cackling as he left. We still talk about it.
